Mesozoic Era
Ella Lee
When Did it Occur?
The Mesozoic Era, which includes the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous Periods, lasted from about 250-65 million years ago.
What Was it Like on Earth at This Time?
The Mesozoic Era started right after the Permian Extinction, which was a mass extinction getting rid of almost 95% of marine species. Because of this, there were plenty of new life forms in the beginning of this era. Also, the continents were in the form of Pangaea and began breaking apart near the end of the era. There was no polar ice because it was much warmer. There was also a higher sea level.
