California Schools Parent Survey – Closes March 25th
CalSCHOOLS is one of the most essential pieces of data we use to assess our progress as a school in terms of school culture, safety, school connectedness, promotion of parental involvement, etc. Students take the California Healthy Kids Survey and parents take the California School Parent Survey. Traditionally, we have an extremely low participation rate from parents and we’d like to change that this year. We'd like to ask you to complete this online survey to learn more about your opinions of Correia Middle School. This Link: CA Schools Parent Survey Info explains the survey and, at the bottom of the page, provides your parent-survey URL and access instructions. Students have a different link and will be taking the survey in class next week. The information you provide will help guide district and school efforts to promote safety, enhance learning supports, and improve student achievement.
Middle School Athletics Update
Correia Admin connected with our SDUSD Middle School Sports Director, Lonnie Jones, on Friday.
They are excited to host school tryouts on Wednesday, March 16th, 20 minutes after the dismissal bell rings at 2:30 PM on the Correia soccer field.
They ask that all students meet at the lunch tables as we will first be signing in and collecting waivers for all students. Please make sure your student-athlete has all the paperwork filled out and signed by parent/guardian as this will determine if they will be able to try out.
Please see the attachments for a copy of the waiver forms previously handed out and sent out via email.
They recommend that your child bring a filled water bottle, athletic attire, sunscreen, and a towel to tryouts.
They look forward to meeting your child at tryouts. Please keep in mind that this is a closed try-outs and families will not be allowed on campus.

Safety Net Presentation for Parents March 22nd - 6:00-7:00
We are offering an informational parent presentation regarding Internet safety. The Internet is an amazing place where kids spend a lot of time socializing and exploring. Unfortunately, there are risks involved when having access to so many digital platforms and cyber communities. It's really important for parents to stay informed about child cyber safety. The San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (SD-ICAC) and the San Diego Police Foundation are providing tools to help families manage their online lives. Learn about cyberbullying, social networking, gaming, sexting, and online predators. Parents and guardians are invited to attend this important community event on March 22, 2022 from 6:00-7:00PM. The presentation will be on Zoom and the link will be sent out closer to the date. Thank you.
