Buccaneer of the Week
We know that this year is looking different and is important to preserve school spirit and spread some cheer. This year, we are introducing a new feature called Buccaneer of the Week where a BHS student will be acknowledged and celebrated for their kindness, optimism, character and hard work. I will record a short video congratulating the student with our school mascot and post to my Instagram account @principal_galante.
Congratulations to Ryan D. for being selected as a Buccaneer of the Week for his leadership and service to the BHS community and beyond.

Reopening Survey
The BHS Reopening Team has drafted a survey for faculty, staff, parents, caregivers and students. We are seeking feedback on the following areas:
Teaching & Learning
Schedule
ARC
Health & Safety
Technology
We are administering the same survey to all stakeholders. We know that this is certainly a different year and seeking feedback is important so that we know what is working and what to consider for potential changes. The survey link will be open through Friday, December 4.
Please click here to take the survey. Thank you in advance for your time and input.
FLU VACCINE REQUIREMENT
The Flu vaccine is required for all students in Massachusetts this year by December 31, 2020.This is required for in-person and remote students. Thank you to those who have already provided documentation for their student.
Since all schools are requiring the flu shot this year, the supply may diminish as the year comes to a close. It may be easier to get this vaccine sooner rather than later. Massachusetts guidance around the vaccine requirement can be found here.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. You can forward me documentation of your student's vaccine to my email: Nancy_Thorsen@bedfordps.org
fax: 781-687-6141
Thank you,
Nancy Thorsen RN

Support for Mrs. Pietrangelo and her family
As you may have heard, Ms. Pietrangelo was in a serious accident Thursday, September 10th. Many families have asked what they can do to help. Here are some specific ways you can help:
GoFundMe: A gofundme account has been established to help the family with expenses. If you would like to make a direct financial contribution to the family, please go to https://gf.me/u/yzjqsu
Gift Cards: the following gift cards were suggested to us by the school and her friends.
- Door Dash and Grub Hub (so her husband, Matt, can order from area restaurants)
- Arlington area restaurant gift cards (Ms. Pietrangelo lives in Arlington with her husband and two young children)
- Grocery Stores in Arlington: Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Stop & Shop
- Gas gift cards
- Amazon
Meals: Since the accident, the family has received a great deal of food from friends and neighbors, so meals are not currently needed. However, in the weeks and months ahead, they will likely need meals. At that time, we will post information on how you can sign up to provide meals for the family.
Thank you all for reaching out!
