Local Scholarships Due THIS WEEK
These are ONLY for SHS Seniors.
Due Tuesday, May 10:
- SHS Booster Club Scholarship, multiple scholarships for seniors with a focus on athletics, academics, and music participation, form in link and also available in counseling.
Due Friday, May 13:
- Stayton HS Community Scholarships: Apply HERE. Multiple scholarships awarded!
- Ty Hart: Two $1,000 scholarships
- Emily Reedy: $1,000 scholarship, 2.75 GPA with an essay requirement.
- Kiwanis: based on character and service in the community, 2.5 GPA needed. 4 year, 2 year, or technical school/trade school.
- Fred Graham: 3.0 GPA required
- Helen Allen Performing Arts Scholarship, 2.5 GPA.

Law Enforcement Career Camp July 25-29 (15 to 17 year old students)
Program Goal: The Jim Willis Law Enforcement Career Camp (JWLECC) is a residential 5-day 4-night program where youth experience all aspects of Law Enforcement, held on the grounds of the Camp Rilea Training Facility, Oregon. The program provides first-hand experiences and insight into the operations of law enforcement agencies. The program also affords these highly motivated young people a nopportunity to consider law enforcement as a potential career choice.
Curriculum and Duration: The Oregon LECC is a high-caliber, intense summer camp held for students from across Oregon interested in a career in law enforcement. The camp focuses in a wide variety of law enforcement topics ranging from patrol and investigations, K-9 operations, forensic sciences, fish and wildlife enforcement, explosives, criminal law and prosecution, as well as long-term wellness and resiliency. The camp is held at the Oregon Dept of Military training facility campus and give students the hands-on version of what attending a basic police academy is really like. From 6 am wake-up and PT, a strict indoor and outdoor schedule of classes rain or shine, experiencing live, active scenarios with a team with new friends, and even retrieving the colors at night. This camp is unique, fun, and is very challenging for the students, but gives them many positive experiences they will not soon forget.
Application Process: This camp is open to students aged 15 to 17 with recommendations from a teacher or other adult and the local American Legion Post sponsor. A $50 fee is required by the student, but the rest of the fee will be covered but the sponsoring Post. This camp provides a well-rounded exposure to the many opportunities in the field of Law Enforcement.
The LECC will be held at Camp Rilea Training Facility (Astoria).

There are several dates and locations for the classes this June. Fill out the pre-registration form with all the dates and locations you would be willing to attend.
Pre-registration will close May 13 and classes will be generated the following week.

Portland Chinese Scholarship Foundation, Due May 15, $500 - $3,000 scholarships for Oregon students of Chinese ancestry with a minimum 2.75 GPA.
AuthenticID Scholarship, Due May 31, 250 word essay, $25,000 scholarships and 5 @ $1000. We are seeking bright minds with a desire to heighten national awareness via our social media campaign to end the dehumanizing forces of human trafficking and child exploitation.
AGC Workforce Development Scholarship, Due June 1, Open to anyone planning to attend a technical school or approved craft training program in any discipline of construction. Applicants must be enrolled or intend to enroll an approved, accredited program (ABET, ACCE, COE, ANSI, IACET, NCCER, and registered apprenticeship programs).
American Indian College Fund Full Circle Scholarship, Due June 1, Scholarships for American Indian students with a 2.0 GPA or higher.
Abbott & Fenner Scholarship, Due June 12, $1,000 scholarship available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all college students for an essay on educational career and life goals.
Navigate Your Future Scholarship, Due June 24, $2,500 scholarship offered to a high school graduate continuing his or her education in the aviation industry.
Willamette Valley Ag Association, Due June 30, preference for Ag or business related education.
Horatio Alger Association CTE Scholarship, Due August 1, Applicants must be US citizens, must demonstrate financial need, and must exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical program at an accredited non-profit community college in the US.
