Busy Bee Leader Board
See the Good. See the Need. See the Whole. See the Possible.
Kicking off the year with Bee Facts!
On leaving the old nest, the swarm normally flies only a few metres and settles. Scout bees look for a suitable place to start the new colony. Eventually, one location wins favor and the whole swarm takes to the air.
Leaders of Learning
This week's nominees:
Helen Cole: I nominate Helen Cole for her leadership in the classroom. She has already begun pulling students for intervention and she has high expectations for ALL students. She manages to complete clerical work and be there for the students at the same time. She is so efficient and a wonderful teammate.
Jennifer Beck: I nominate Jennifer Beck because she is always so helpful with our computer issues and if she does not know the answer she will find the person who does.
Diann Fortune: I would like to nominate Diann Fortune for being such a leader helping roll out all the new iPads and dealing with all of our computer issues.
I would like to nominate our wonderful custodial crew who has bent over backwards helping get our school ready for a new year. They do it with a smile in their face and no request is too much! They are awesome!

Making our Hive Thrive
K – Teachers are giving students lots of opportunities to master procedures and modeling exactly what they expect. Students are working collaboratively in literacy stations to practice critical foundational skills.
1st – Teachers are using notebooks or literacy assignments and giving students an opportunity to construct responses. They are also teaching students to pick good fit books to complete literacy assignments which increases engagement and totally differentiates. Way to go!
2nd- Teachers are doing a great job giving students opportunities to work in the concrete stage in math. They are doing a great job introducing math tools and explaining how and why to use them.
