- I can compute unit rates from complex fractions
- I can convert unit rates between two units of measurement
Important Vocabulary: rate, unit rate, complex fraction, unit ratio, proportional relationship, constant of proportionality
Power Standards for the Quarter:

Life Science
Week at a Glance:
We will finish up our microscope unit by completing the Microbial Art Showcase project as well as our microscope post test. We will then pre-test our next unit, Nonliving v. Living, and discuss the big question of, "What is life?"
Learning Target for the Week:
Identify parts of the microscope.
Focus a slide under the three objective lenses and analyze what we see.
Important Vocabulary:
Parts of a microscope
Power Standards for the Quarter:
Provide evidence that living things are made up of one or many varied cells
Explain that cells must carry out all of the basic functions of life. Understand the functions of the nucleus, chloroplasts, mitochondria, cell membrane, and cell wall and all organelles work together to make a cell function.
Use evidence to argue that multicellular organisms are organized by varying levels of complexity.
Describe the role of photosynthesis and cellular respiration in the cycling of matter and flow of energy in and out of organisms
Social Studies
Announcements: If students have any materials they would like to bring to school to use to create their artifact OR if they would like to create it at home, they are more than welcome!
We plan to send home a study guide next Friday, Sept. 14 to allow students time to prepare for the Unit Test the following week.
