Congratulations Dr. Marquardt
2021 Leadership Award of Orange County Winner
Principal's Corner
Dear RHLS Community,
February was a very historic and exciting month here at the RHLS campus. We talked with NASA Astronaut Michael Hopkins on the International Space Station (ISS) and also witnessed the landing of the Mars Rover Perseverance. The local news provided coverage of these two historic events (OC Register ISS Astronaut contact; ABC-7 News: ISS Astronaut contact and Mars Rover Perseverance Landing) and shared with the larger community that Christian Education is also Academically Excellent.
More importantly, we began the season of Lent with Ash Wednesday chapel and are in the beginning of our 40 Days of Prayer series. We have great resources for your family in our Youth Lenten Calendar, Kids Lenten Calendar, as well as our 40 Days of Lenten Family Activities, all leading up to the Easter Weekend Scavenger Hunt.
If you have not already, please watch our weekly chapels and other schoolwide events as they are provided on YouTube, Facebook and Vimeo streams. These are also excellent ways to share with friends and relatives about RHLS and your children’s activities.
Finally, I encourage you, your friends, and relatives to participate in our annual PTF fund-raising online auction. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, as we seek to raise funds for RHLS students. Our online auction features travel destinations, class baskets, teacher experiences and MORE. Please share the online auction link with your friends and relatives and thank them for their support of Christian Education here at RHLS. Auction closes on March 6th at 9:00 pm- have fun and BID NOW!
Blessings,
Dr. Paul Marquardt, Principal

Preschool News
Preschool Trike-a-Thon, Friday 3/12/21
Red Hill Lutheran Preschool is hosting its annual Trike-a-Thon to raise funds for a new yard 2 water table and other outdoor learning toys, new shade coverings for yard 2, and new STEAM materials for each classroom. On Friday, March 12th, preschool students will have the opportunity to ride laps on our preschool tricycles around the K-8 basketball court.
Our goal this year is to raise $5,000 so we are asking each student to help raise a minimum flat donation of $75. All donations can be given through the RHLS app, under “Trike-a-Thon.”
Friends and other family members can donate on our website: RedHillSchool.org/Preschool/Trike-a-Thon; this year we are asking that all donations be made electronically.
We hope to collect all donations by Sunday, March 14, 2021. Red Hill Lutheran School is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization (tax id: 95-2158367), thus, your donation is tax deductible and will act as an investment in the lives of young children and will continue to pay dividends while serving as a legacy of good will and support for our students.
Due to COVID-19, we are unable to invite parents onto campus to cheer the children on. Instead, we will be live streaming each class as they ride. Live streaming will be done via our church and school YouTube and social media sites. All children will need to return the attached permission slip (please print and return to your child's teacher) to be included in the live stream. If you do not want your child to be a part of the live streamed event, they will ride around the track after the other children have finished and recordings have stopped. You may sign the permission slip on the school website under the “Preschool” tab, on the school app or, on the attached form which you will return to your child’s teacher by Wednesday, March 10.
Below, is a tentative schedule for each class:
Room 11 & 12 Miss Suzy, Miss Jessica & Miss Linda: 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Yellow
Room 10 Miss Melody: 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Green
Room 9 Miss Kaitlyn & Miss Paola: 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 p.m. Blue
Room 5 Miss Tracy & Miss Alexis: 11:45 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. Red
As this is a regular preschool day, students must wear closed-toe shoes and are encouraged to wear their assigned classroom spirit colors. Also, all children must wear a helmet. Please be sure to send a labeled helmet for your child to wear while riding a RHLS preschool tricycle the day of our Trike-A-Thon.
Thank you for your support!

March Teaching Series "Blueprints"
MARCH 07: JESUS CLEARS THE TEMPLE
MARCH 14: GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD
MARCH 21: JESUS BRINGS GLORY TO GOD
MARCH 28: JESUS ENTERS JERUSALEM
OVERVIEW:
Blueprints are a kind of plan that helps engineers, architects and drafters to know how a project should go. Plans are everywhere. Kids find plans at school, in their lego sets and even in their video games. But the best kinds of plans are the ones that help us grow. Through the life of Jesus, kids are going to find out that God’s plans are perfect, love is the foundation of God’s plans, that Jesus said “yes” to God’s plans and most of all, that we are included in God’s plans.
