Stewart Stampede

July 2021

From the Principal

Dear Stewart Families,

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer! The staff at Stewart will be returning to campus soon to make preparations for the new school year.

I'm sure many of you are wondering about how things will be structured as we embark on the 2021/22 school year. We are looking forward to getting back to normal here on campus. We will begin the year with no requirements for wearing masks and we will be welcoming visitors back on the campus. We have missed you and are looking forward to seeing you in person.

We will also be looking forward to enjoying the many campus activities we enjoyed in the past, such as, Meet the Teacher, Cheers and Tears, reading in classrooms, volunteering in the library and many more. We are currently working on the Stewart calendar that will be posted on our website so you can begin making plans to attend and enjoy activities with your children and our faculty.

I will be sending out another newsletter in about two weeks with additional information about the start of school and detailed information regarding arrival and dismissal. In the meantime, I hope this newsletter will answer some of the questions you may currently have.

The staff at Stewart will be returning to campus soon to make preparations for the new school year. The front office will be open on July 19 with adjusted summer hours. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

I hope you enjoy these next few weeks of summer with your children. We will see all of you very soon.

Take care.

Dr. Julie English

Meet The Teacher

Your child's new teacher will send out a special email on Friday, August 6th introducing themselves. We will hold an event for students and parents to come into the building to meet their new teacher and see the classroom.

The days and times are staggered due to the large number of students and classrooms in our grade levels. Teachers will only be available during the times specified below. If teachers are not meeting students, they will be either off campus or in meetings.

PreK and Kindergarten - Monday, August 9th from 4:00-5:00PM

First and Second Grades - Monday, August 9th from 5:30-6:30PM

Third through Sixth Grade - Tuesday, August 10th from 5:00 - 6:00PM

Parents may park in the front parking lot and are also welcome to part in the parking lot for the church across the street.

School Supplies

Several of our families took advantage of ordering school supplies from the PTO. These supplies will be delivered to the classrooms before our Meet the Teacher event. Teachers will be able to verify the supplies are in the classroom.

If you didn't purchase supplies through the PTO, you are welcome and encouraged to bring them during our Meet the Teacher event. The school supply list was attached to the email you received.

Our school nurse will be on campus soon. You are welcome to bring medications to the school before school begins or during the Meet the Teacher event.

Please remember that students should NEVER transport medications to school themselves.

First Day of School

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 11. The school will be open at 7:30AM. Parents are welcome to walk their children to class on the first day.

Please join us for a Cheers and Tears Coffee Social for parents in the cafeteria after you walk your child to class.

Enrollment Verification

If you child was previously enrolled in Conroe ISD, you should have received an email from the school district to verify enrollment. This email was sent on or around July 6. Please look for this email to complete the verification. This process eliminates the need to send home so many paper forms on the first day of school. It also let's us know your child will be returning to the district and the school.
