The 2017-2018 School Year Kick-Off!
A Message From the Director
WOW!! Every time I blink, one day ends and a new one begins! This means that the year is rapidly approaching. Can you believe it? I can't but, I am ready!
I know that you all have a myriad of emotions taking over right now. Most of you are nervous about what is to come. You can feel the butterflys in your stomach but, guess what? It is perfectly fine to feel that way! Every single one of us has felt this feeling, at some point in our years of existence.
In the spirit of embracing your thoughts and feelings, I want each of you to identify the area in which you are most excited. Idenitfy what you are excited about, and the feelings associated with that excitement. Conversely, I want each of you to identify the area in which you are most concerned, and be ready to share your thoughts on Monday.
Identification of excitement and concerns, helps to determine the approach you take and the guidance you receive in order to work through situations. So, be honest about what you are feeling. Don't be afraid, own it, take control of whatever emotions you are having at this very moment, and be ready to release it when you are with your team on Monday.
I know that this year is going to be epic! A year filled with limitless possiblities. UHPMS, it is time for Liftoff!! Let's go!
The DreamTeam Will Fight!
Sincerely,
Andrea

Dean of Scholars
Greetings Uplift Hampton Middle School Family! My name is Yalea Baughman and I will your new Dean of Scholars. I am originally from Michigan where I attended Grand Valley State University (Go Lakers!). After graduation, I joined The New Teacher Project and was sent to teach Chemistry in Nashville, TN. During that time, I received my Masters in Teaching from Belmont University. Recently, I taught at W.T High School within Dallas I.S.D. I am extremely excited to join the Uplift Hampton family this year to promote and inspire a positive staff and scholar culture!
Behavior Specialist
Ranae Thomas, is currently the Behavior Specialist. She was previously the 6th grade Science Teacher and Department Lead for Uplift Hampton MS. She was born and raised in the heart Dallas, TX. She is the youngest of three children and she is also a twin.
She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and graduated from Texas College in 2005. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The best years of her life were in college. Her favorite things to do include: shopping, attending and being a servant at her church, dining out, exploring Dallas, and visiting family and friends.
An interesting fact about Ranae, is that she has her own party business called Sugar Junkie. It is her goal to combine her range of experience with her ability to be compassionate, and enthusiastic in order to make a positive contribution to every scholar and staff member she encounters. She believes that Uplift Education is awesome!
