ENGINEERING WEEK
To close out Engineering week, we had a special presentation from Peterbilt employees, Erin Luke, Thomas Ford, and Michele Rodgers on Friday, February 22nd. Peterbilt uses all aspects of STEAM in the designing and building processes of the trucking industry. Students learned about Peterbilt and also got to see a new truck which was brought to CTE from the plant in Denton. Thanks to Jake Luke, Clint Bushong, Clint Birkhead, and Kevin Holder for bringing the truck to CTE and assisting students in and out of the truck. Mellissa Gardner and Krystle Taylor were also here to represent Peterbilt.

Flu is a respiratory virus spread through the air by coughing and sneezing and from hands to mouth and eyes. The flu virus can live up to 2 hours on a contaminated surface. The signs and symptoms of flu are: headache, fever (102 or over with a sudden onset) , extreme tiredness, dry cough, (sometimes wet with lots of drainage), runny or stuffy nose, muscles aches, GI symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. If you experience any of these symptoms, Please stay home!!!! Getting a flu shot is the single best way to not get the flu. There are some simple health rules to help: avoid contact with sick people, stay home if you are sick, cover mouth when coughing or sneezing (into elbow or a tissue is best), wash hands frequently, especially after coughing or sneezing, keep hands away from eyes, nose, and mouth, eat a balanced diet, get plenty of rest, and drink plenty of fluids
