In Review:
We are very fortunate for the work that Shop On State does for our community and the way that they donate toward community organizations. Grant recipients and the descriptions are included below.
Judy Sloter received a grant for (2) sensory mazes- one for the east and west end of the building. These mazes help reduce sensory seeking behaviors, regulate children for learning as well as improve cognitive function. The maze can improve the development of motor skills and assist children with calming or alerting type strategies. Here are pictures of what it will look like:
Jean Swenson & Mary Jo Urbatsch- Title 1 Reading received a $300 grant to purchase (2) teacher subscriptions to Lyrics2Learn, making reading fun as it is set to music.
Jenn Ham- new iPad and iPad pencil to be used in making videos for students demonstrating math problems.
Janet Larrison- Social learning through play- kitchen equipment, benches with cushions, and sensory table.
Wendy Thorson- Makayla Ukulele classroom set.
