Belridge Secondary ESC News
September 2022
From the Principals Desk
Term Three has drawn to a close and all students have been participating in a variety of learning opportunities offered here at Belridge Secondary Education Support Centre and it has been wonderful to see that there are more learning opportunities taking place in the broader Community. These excursions have been a long time coming in 2022 and they are a welcome addition to programs! The last few weeks of the term have been extremely busy with many events and activities taking place including: Community Access, Work place learning, R U OK Day, Book Week, DFES incursions and excursions, and the list goes on!
Week 5 saw the start of a transition program for students eligible to attend Year 7 in 2023 here at Belridge Secondary ESC which was a resounding success. Many students were eager to get started as soon as possible and came back again in Week 9 to discover more about our school. We also enjoyed our Book Week celebrations which is always popular- staff and students enthusiastically approach this day and are keen participants in dressing up as their favourite Book Character. The whole campus was a hive of colour and activity with a focus on Literacy which was awesome to see. It was the perfect day for me to show our school to our Acting Regional Executive Director, Mr Steve Watson, who was extremely impressed with the students he met and the classes that he visited.
One of the favourite activities in Term 3 is our shared Athletics Carnival and a HUGE thanks to the College Physical Education Department and our very own Mr Tom Cann for all of their organisation in this annual event. It was a sensational day and it was wonderful to see all of our students participate and engage to the very best of their individual levels and ability. The sense of community and inclusion that is evident is second to none. Congratulations to everyone who competed, gave their all and cheered on their classmates. The weather was a little windy and a bit chilly but we were extremely fortunate that we didn’t get any rain! We could not have wished for a better day. Whilst the students were a little weary, I know that the staff were too and a BIG thank you to you all for your support and encouragement of all students on this day-well done to you all.
Our Year 12 School Ball which is the “Night of Nights” for our Year 12 students was finally able to come to fruition and all of Year 12’s looked truly amazing at their very special night on Friday 9th September 2022. The venue was once again at Optus Stadium and our students were also able to see the Stadium and Matagarup Bridge lit up in the colour of purple in honour of her Majesty the Queen. Congratulations to all our Year 12 students who looked sensational and very grown up-a great night was had by one and all!
There are many events planned for Term Four so please keep your eye on the important dates on the front of each newsletter and put the dates in your diary or on your calendar.
School returns for Term Four on Monday the 10th of October. Our graduating Year 12 students will have their Graduation Ceremony in Week 3 on Thursday the 27th of October and our annual Market Day will be held on Thursday the 24th of November.
I hope that you all enjoy the many photographs of our students in this edition which includes the School Ball, Sports Carnival, classroom activities as well as some very proud students showing their masterpieces created with Mrs Anna Dyer in the Arts Department in the College. These creations certainly are reflective of some Van Gogh artwork-well done one and all!
We all wish each and every family a relaxing school holiday break. Hopefully the weather is kind and the days are sunny and warm!

Middle School News
WOW I can’t believe we are at the end of term three, time fly’s when you’re having fun. Middle school classes have taken part in a number of educational activities this semester. Students have been engaged in weekly Home Economics and Design and Technology sessions, students have been using the sewing machines during textile classes and made some amazing pieces of work. We have enjoyed the sports carnival this term and it was great to hear all the cheering and encouragement being exchanged throughout the day. We have had a few incursions this term including Watercorp, Cuddly Animal Farm for R U OK Day and we had Circus Challenge visit our school as part of the middle school Arts curriculum program. This incursion was a celebration of all the hard work the middle school students have put in this term.
We are excited to report that we have had our second, year seven transition day for our year six students who will be joining us in 2023. We have a large cohort of year seven students enrolled for next year which is very exciting. It has been great to see so many friendships forming already. We have two more transition days coming up in term four which we are looking forward to.
We have had a number of middle school assemblies this term. It is an opportunity to celebrate and commend students on all their hard work and achievements. All students should be very proud of themselves and their many achievements.
At our whole school assembly today our middle school PBS award winners were:
Justin in 7-2 and Evie in 8-1. They were both awarded a $20.00 gift voucher - Congratulations to both of you for your Safe, Respectful and Responsible behaviour.
As the Term draws to a close, I would like to wish everybody a safe and happy two week break and I look forward to seeing you all day one of term four. Best wishes everyone.

Senior School News
I really didn’t want to start with a cliched opening like – where did that term go? But, ……….where did that term go????
We have ticked off some big events this term with the dazzling night of the Year 12 Ball, Athletics Carnival, Year 12 ASDAN Moderation, DFES excursions and incursions as well as other curriculum related events. One way to keep the school vibe positive is to have the students engaged in meaningful and relevant activities. We have certainly achieved that this term.
The Year 12 Ball gave our school community the chance to see our students in a different way. I know how much it hits home to parents as they prepare for this event that their child is about to enter an adult world. That happens to us as a staff as well. We are faced with handsome young men in suits, and elegant young women in beautiful dresses with accessories. This year’s group looked absolutely stunning. It was such a joy to spend some social time with them dancing the night away. As part of the evening’s events some awards were presented. Our congratulations to:
Best Dancer – Spencer Greven
Best Dressed – Troy Adlem
Beau of the Ball – Jonathon Okom
Belle of the Ball – Jennifer Mason
The Athletics Carnival was such an enjoyable event. Thank you to Tom Cann who altered the program this year to streamline the events that occurred on the actual day. Tom was ably assisted by volunteers who made sure the day ran smoothly. Our congratulations to the Champion Boys and Girls and also to the Year 12s who put great effort into wearing an outfit from the 2000s.
It was interesting having a discussion with the Year 11s today about the upcoming River Cruise. They understood the purpose of the cruise was to have fun and interact with our college peers. They also understood that it wasn’t going to be much fun if the weather was cold, wet and the water rough. We agreed that if we really wanted to have fun it would be a good idea to re-schedule the river cruise to a time when the weather is a bit milder. I have my fingers crossed for Wednesday the 19th October as we board the Crystal Swan at 6pm!! Year 11 parents will receive a consent form today confirming the new arrangements. Sadly I will not be able to attend as I also have the Beyond School Parent Information Night booked for that evening.
Beyond School is a really great opportunity for ALL parents to hear from service providers who can support your child through NDIS funding as they transition to life once they have finished Year 12. The event will commence at 5pm inn the Auditorium so I am hoping Year 11 parents can wave their children off as they leave for the river cruise and then come and join us!! I will be sending home the flyers with all the information today. It’s really important you let us know if you can attend and how many people will be there so we can get the catering right! (Yes – there’s light refreshments!)
Congratulations to our Year 12 cohort who were enrolled in Endorsed ASDAN programs. Your portfolios have been externally moderated and you have had your achievements endorsed. I’d like to acknowledge the staff who delivered the programs and collected the evidence. What an effective team you all make. I was very proud to present such comprehensive portfolios for moderation. A job well done by all.
At our whole school assembly today our Senior School PBS Award winners were: Grace in 10-1 and Carlo in 12-1. They both received a $20.00 gift voucher - Congratulations to you both for your Safe, Respectful and Responsible behaviour.
Have a safe and restful holiday break. I know the staff have earned it – and so have you all.

R U OK? Day
R U OK? is a national charity inspiring and empowering everyone to meaningfully connect with people around them and support anyone struggling with life. We recognise that looking out for one another and lending support are key life skills for any age group.
Teachers embedded a series of activities into existing units of work with content inclusive of themes such as: friendship, resilience, respectful relationships, help-seeking and wellbeing.
On Wednesday the 8th of September 2022 BSESC Lauren Thompson organised an all-day incursion from the Cuddly Animal Farm. Students and staff absolutely loved this experience and visited the animals a number of times throughout the day.
For students, learning how to talk about how they feel is an important life lesson, so where better to start than in the classroom.
EA Appreciation Week
We celebrated Australian Education Assistant Appreciation Week during the week of 29 August – 2 September.
We provided our EA’s with a morning tea and some super yummy thank you cookies as a gesture of thanks.
Thank you to all our Education Assistants for all your hard work and dedication to our students. Your work makes a difference!!!!!!
MAG 1
The boys have been using the interactive whiteboard to enjoy games, songs and dance. We had a visit from a Cuddly Animal Farm where the boys got to pet rabbits, chickens and sheep. They have been learning about the weather with Ms Northmore.
We enjoyed Book Week, the students all took part in a colouring competition and enjoyed listening to lots of stories read by the staff. Deegan won the competition and took home a book as a prize. 'We are fast approaching the end of another school year but we are not done yet. Next term we have Market Day. The boys have been busy creating some wonderful arts and crafts to sell.
We hope you have an enjoyable and relaxing break and look forward to seeing you all again in Term 4.
Happy Holiday!

The students have enjoyed many exciting activities and events. From Book Week to the Athletics Carnival - so many firsts for students. Book Week was a lot of fun for 7-1 with many dressing up as a Harry Potter character. There was also a Minion, Marvel Character and a Where's Wally. Everyone looked amazing!
The next was the Athletics Carnival - another first for the Year 7 students. They all participated in at least 1 event. The staff were all very proud of them for trying their best and giving it a go.
Staff and students are all looking forward to the last term of Year 7 and the many exciting activities yet to come.

Everyone had a great time at their first high school Athletics Carnival either participating or cheering on their friends. Congratulations to Blake and Liv who were awarded Champion Boy and Girl in Year 7.
The Swan Valley Animal Farm visited for R U OK Day and students thoroughly enjoyed seeing and patting the rabbits, guinea pigs and even some chickens.
We are all looking forward to Market Day in Term 4 as well as all the activities that are planned.
Enjoy the holiday break everyone - see you all next term.

Our students have been learning how to paint with water colours. They have recently produced pictures of watermelons and a bird frieze. Preparation for next term's Market Day has also begun. Jewellery, notebooks, decorated pencils, fidget toys are among the items our class are making in readiness for the 24th November.
Term 4 is fast approaching and will be our students' last term of their first year in high school. It is wonderful to see them so settled, cementing friendships and making such good progress. It is hard to believe that the year is flying by so quickly.
Thank you to all our parents, Education Assistants Ms Dunstan, Mrs McDade and Mrs Ranasinghe for your support over this term. It is always the term many of us manage to come down with the winter maladies, so congratulations to everyone for soldiering on, including our students who have done their best to catch up on work they have missed when absent.
Enjoy the school holidays and hopefully some lovely sunny weather!

We have been fortunate to attend two different incursions this term. First we went to the Water Corporation incursion where we learnt how to save water and other water source activities. As part of 'R U OK Day?' we had a farm yard visit our school. Some of us were able to hold the chickens, pat the sheep and goats and we also saw geese, guinea pigs and rabbits.
As usual we have been enjoying cooking in Home Ec and making some amazing things in D&T. We have finished our Market Day project and have started making copper rings. Metal work is a whole new skill and students are enjoying the new project immensely. This term in Dance we got to see/do circus activities and the students were incredible with their balance and coordination.
We are continuing to work on our learning goals throughout all our other subjects. We have been earning Studyladder certificates that reinforce all the work we have been doing. In Maths the 10's game is always a favourite activity. '
We have also been working on a special film project incorporating numerous subjects focusing on technology and protective behaviours. Watch this space for the final product next term.

Below are some highlights as written by some of our students:
Hayley M
'We had a circus incursion and it was so fun. My favourite activities were spinning the plats with a stick and spinning the fake fire sticks.'
Jessica M
'On my birthday, I brought cupcakes for the class. We all had cupcakes and the class sand the happy birthday son for my 14th birthday.'
Tay B
'I liked the animal farm where I got to pat the rabbits and goats. I enjoyed throwing the NFL Ball with Mr Mac. I liked the circus and using the fake fire twirls. I have really enjoyed D&T making dog tags and getting to know Mr Orr. I have enjoyed my first two weeks at Belridge.'
Ollie M
'Tay joined our class. He is now my friend and another member of the classroom. He is funny and happy and that's why we like him.
Mr Mac the Coffee Thief - Mr Mac and I acted out my creative writing story. It was fun and put a smile on my face. It was very creative to come up with something cool. Mr Mac is funny when he acts'.
Phoebe K
'We had R U OK Day and we had a cuddly animal farm come to the school on the day. We also had a Water Corp incursion that day too'.
Lila G
'I liked Wear it Purple Day. We got to wear purple and celebrate diversity. I got a rainbow painted on my cheek.'
Based on our Talk4Writing program (this term we looked at Suspense), one of our students Ollie wrote a very cool story. I thought it would be great to share it with you.
The Mac
At a mysterious coffee shop during a darkened sunset, the blinded lights start to flicker as the day turns to dusk. With tired shoulders he flicks the sign to “closed”. Another tedious but successful day completed.
Mr Mac the coffee thief deconstructs the window with a smash of his hand. Suddenly he hears a creak and the distorted shadow runs like the wind. He exhales “phew it’s just a fat rat” he whispers.
He finds his prised possession and peacefully steals the Yahava coffee beans “we me coffee beans” suddenly the path he came from was blocked without a brick he will be stranded; he figures out a way.
Foolishly he steps on a heavy Lego brick and BANG!!!! Mr Mac is free and he crawls through the glass window with a surprise surrounded by police and K9’s.
Mr Mac is surrounded by the most advanced police and K9’s, he thinks three times, BOOM he kicks the police officers armed gun and eliminates the whole squad, Mr Mac finds a getaway car he fires up the engine and full speed ahead faster than light, the hard whiplash sent him into a deep sleep, he is nowhere to be seen.
Ollie and Mr Mac also made a video to go with the story - it is really funny!

All 9-1 students have lots to be proud of with their participation at the Athletics Carnival. Ashleigh was well deserving of Year 9 Champion girl.
When I asked the students to reflect on the last few weeks they said their favourite activity was the cuddly animal farm visit. While it was a bit like face your fear for some students, we were all grateful for the opportunity to touch and observe the animals.
A fond farewell to Ms Reuben who is leaving Belridge this week. She has been an asset to our classroom. Ms Reuben followed our class from Year 8. She has built a positive relationship with everyone in our classroom and will be missed in Term 4.

The recent Sport Carnival was a great success, and was enjoyed by all! Our students participated in a number of track and field events, coming away with an impressive range of first, second and third place ribbons. Well done to everyone for their fabulous efforts!
Three students participated in the Kick Ability Football Carnival recently held in Kalamunda. Our students competed against teams from other Perth schools, coming away as winners, having won all four games played!
During R U OK Day on September 8th, the class attended an incursion featuring Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm. The students thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the animals!
The students are also making very good progress in the classroom! In Mathematics they have been working on fractions, money and time. In HASS they have been studying Economics, looking at Australia's major trading partners and what we import from them.
Students have made some amazing artworks in Visual Art classes with Mrs Dyer from the Secondary College. I am sure all the parents were very impressed when students brought them home from school.

This term has welcomed some exciting changes to our class timetable. MAG 2 students now participate in weekly work skills sessions at Landsdale Farm on Thursday and experience a change in pace for physical activity at High Flyers on Friday. Jeremy, Massimo, Michael and Jarrah thoroughly enjoy both additions to our timetable and look forward to these sessions every week.
Our students have continued to work hard on their literacy and numeracy IEP goals in class while also continuing to develop their gross motor and sports skills during our Physical Education sessions. While there has been quite a bit of rain this term, I must commend our students as they have demonstrated great resilience when plans change due to weather constraints.
Thank you to Mr Barber for taking the class while I was on leave and thank you to the consistent effort of our wonderful team of Education Assistants – Jane Devaney, Brooke McCamish, Jennie Murray and Sue King for providing continuity for the students.
Wishing everyone a restful and relaxing break – we look forward to seeing you back at school in Term 4.

First and foremost, I wanted to let you know about an event that took place on Friday the 9th of September in the gymnasium at school. It was the CO2 Dragster Competition which is a state-wide competition that has been happening for many years; however the first time that an Education Support class has entered the competition. A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our very own JADA for making and producing a pull back car in D&T, where her car came in second place in Division C. Also, a special mention to ADELE in 10-2 for placing first!! Well done to both girls!! Also, a special thank you to their D&T teacher, Mr Cox, for making this all possible.
This term has proved to be fun filled with some great activities. With DFES, our most recent excursion was out to the Swan Valley Adventure Centre. Students enjoyed participating in group and partner team building activities on what was a lovely warm sunny day.
Book Week was another fun filled day with everyone dressing up and being part of a fun week celebrating all things books! Congratulations to THAYA for winning the book prize for her outstanding collage with this year's theme "Dreaming with eyes open".
Our first community access trip up to Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre was a success. I was so proud of each and every student, and their enthusiasm out in the community was wonderful to see. As well as navigating public transport, students participated in a scavenger hunt around the shopping centre and met together at the end to have lunch in the food hall.
The sports carnival proved to be yet another fun day, and I was proud at their participation efforts in all events. Their energy and enthusiasm are to be commended. A special thank you goes out to Mr Pantelis for all his time and dedication getting the students prepared and ready for the day. A massive CONGRATULATIONS to JADA for taking out Champion Girl for Year 10. Congratulations!!
Students in their cooking lessons in the ILC, have been busy mastering the art of eggs; fried eggs, egg soldiers, omelettes, scrambled eggs, French Toast and having a good crack at it 😉. We are learning about healthy eating and in particular the importance of a healthy breakfast. Students will be preparing and making a healthy breakfast to serve using foods from all the food groups. I can't wait to see their creations.
Keep safe and enjoy the break. See you all ready to go in Term 4.

We'll start with our visit to the Cuddly Animal Farm where we got to hang out with farm animals such as geese, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits and lambs. Everyone enjoyed feeding and patting the animals.
Back by popular demand her is our roving reporter Marcus:
' 10-2 had an incursion with a lady from the Water Corporation. she talked about water in Perth and Australia. She said that climate change is affecting Australia and since 1953 the amount of rainfall each year has decreased. She said that Perth is using more groundwater and that if Perth used, drank, or used recycled water it wouldn't be harmful. She said that they deliver trucks of water or water tanks to some places that had little or no water. The lady gave us a four-minute timer to use when you have a shower, she said that that's how long you're supposed to have a shower for.'
On Monday, September 14th 2022, the 10-2 class went to the Swan Valley Adventure Camp where we participated in team activities. One of the activities was balancing on a board and keeping it even for three seconds. Another activity was trying to move a ball from one end to the other end using half pipes. Another one was where one person wore a blindfold and another person tried to guide them through a little course around trees and other things. After the course had been completed, they swapped roles with their partner. The activities were hard but fun.
Let's hear from student extraordinaire, Hayden:
' We had our first community access to Joondalup shops. We caught the 463 bus. We walked around the shops and looked at prices of items. We got lunch at the food hall. It was a good day.'
We also had an amazing day at the Athletics Carnival where the students participated in sports activities. We cheered for our team and had an amazing day. A BIG congratulations to our very own Marcus for winning Year 10 Champion Boy.
In Mr Cox's Design and Technology class the 10-2 students made some CO2 Dragsters. On Friday, 9th of September, the CO2 Dragster Competition was held in the Gym. A HUGE congratulations goes to Adele whose amazing creation won Category C.
Thank you to the 10-2 team, the students and the wonderful parents and carers for such a great term.
Have a safe and great holiday.

Our DFES excursion to Perth Hills Discovery Centre was informative learning about Aboriginal Culture. The hands on activities included making a friendship band by plaiting a flattened grass tree, crushing grain with a rock to make damper, attempting to start a fire to cook (not successful) and a short bush walk and talk about Aboriginal weapons and tools used to get bush tucker. This was followed by a reptile encounter of bobtails and snakes. We were also lucky enough to see and touch a long necked tortoise. '
The Athletics Carnival was in Week 7. All students participated in an event whether it was the 100m, long jump, shot put and/or discus on the day. Theo ran the 200m and 400m also. Super effort by all students on the day!
11-1 students also loved the Footy Colours Dress Day and the Cuddly Animal Farm visit for
R U OK? Day.

During DFES students have been learning about fire safety and hazards. They have also been lucky enough to go to the Perth Hills on excursion where they learnt about the different plants in Western Australia as well as learning more about indigenous culture.
11-2 students baked cupcakes for all the students at BSESC to mark 'R U OK' Day . They chose this as their special project, went shopping to buy the ingredients and baked over 160 cupcakes! Students also enjoyed the incursion from the Cuddly Animal Farm and the Watercorp where they learnt about Perth's water sources.
Students enjoyed participating in the Athletics Carnival this year. Their behaviour was exemplary as they participated and encouraged each other.
For Business students have been finishing up their ASDAN portfolio and have begun making items to sell on Market Day.

With Term Three days away from finishing, the students of 11-3 have been working hard to complete all set tasks for the term. I am pleased to say that students are travelling well through their courses and are on track to successfully achieve their goals for each unit of work.
As it is the end of the term, this is the ideal time to share some extra special achievements across our class.
Harri Cornell has excelled at his WPL placement this term. Harri sourced and travels independently to his workplace and has logged many hours of valuable experience in the workforce.
Evan Stevenson was crowned Champion Boy for Year 11 at the recent Whole-School Athletics Carnival for Education Support. Evan won his 100m, 200m and 400m races, as well as set several records across both track and field events.
Steven Mason has applied himself with maturity and professionalism at his place work. Steven is working at a fence-making company where he works alongside his colleague to manufacture panel fencing and gates. Feedback regarding Steven’s performance has been fantastic.
Andrew Spencer has really taken to Health lessons this term, by sharing his wealth of knowledge of each topic we have covered. This program and the topics we have studied this term has been extremely beneficial for all students.
Kade Sharkey has developed his Coffee making skills this term and last week, ran almost completely independent on grinding, tampering, and extracting the coffee. Next term, Kade will begin to work on how to texture the milk.
Levi Johnson has worked hard to complete all his set tasks in his Certificate II course, and as such, he is tracking well across each unit of competency.
Luke Green has demonstrated a keenness in bike riding and bike maintenance. Aside from being a competent bike rider, Luke has assisted Mr Nethercott in maintaining the bikes for all classes to use.
Joshua Brooke has worked brilliantly in all his subjects this term. For his Certificate I course in Agri-Foods, he works diligently and efficiently to complete each task.
Hamish Rafferty has been a star this term in competing his individual Community Access Program. This term, Hamish has successfully travelled to Distrykt Café in Beldon, Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre, and IKEA in Innaloo.
Next term, students will continue to strive for a successful 2022 year at Belridge. So to the students and their families, enjoy the break and bring on Term 4!

We completed all 4 of our ASDAN modules and passed them all when they were taken to State Moderation. We are very proud of ourselves and look forward to getting our certificates.
Our DFES excursion to see the RAC Rescue Helicopter was fantastic. We learnt all about how the operation is run and could get into the helicopter and look at all the equipment. It was very interesting.
Book Week was another fun occasion where we got to dress up and make a poster. Congratulations to Joel for winning the class poster competition and receiving a Lego book.
The school Athletics Carnival was a fantastic day for everyone. The class dressed up and participated in every event with maximum effort. It was brilliant to see. Well done boys!
All Year 12's attended the RAC Arena in the city for the bStreetsmart event which highlighted road safety and the emergency services involved when things go wrong. A very informative, well presented event that enforced responsibility for self and others when travelling on the road.
The highlight of the Term though was the Year 12 Ball held at Optus Stadium on Friday 9th September. What a fantastic night!! Everyone looked so handsome. After dinner everyone hit the dance floor and stayed there all night apart from an occasional visit to the photo booth to take some silly photos. We were a very tired and happy bunch by the end of the night. Congratulations to Spencer for being named 'Best Dancer' of the night and Jonathan for being named 'Beau of the Ball'.
As we head into our last term of high school we look forward to Graduation and the Year 12 Day Camps in the Swan Valley.
Have a lovely holiday and see you for Term 4 rested and ready to finish off strong.

In week six the Year 12 classes climbed on the bus for the pleasant drive to Jandakot where the RAC Rescue Helicopter base is located. The students watched a video showing many actual activities and also training activities that the crew performs and then spent a very engaging hour looking around one of the helicopters. We were lucky to have access to all the crew on the day, including flight crew, pilot, paramedic and flight engineer. Everyone loved hearing about each job and Xander was thrilled to have a lengthy discussion with the flight engineer. The day finished at the public viewing area of Jandakot Airport where we saw numerous aircraft, including the Royal Flying Doctor Service take-off and land. Thanks Mrs Bond and Mr V for an informative and enjoyable excursion.
And now for everyone's favourite - The 2022 School Ball.
The Ball was held on Friday 9th September at Optus Stadium. The students were thrilled to finally have their opportunity to dress up and celebrate their final year of school. Liam, Matthew, Troy and Xander looked so grown up in their suits; and Zoe, Megan, Maddi and Jen were dazzling in their dresses. After a lovely meal and some socialising the dancing took off.
Special mention to Jen who was 'Belle of The Ball' and Troy who was 'Best Dressed'.
The Year 12's final term of schooling is almost here - and there will be numerous events and celebrations. See you all there.

Morning Tea for families and children with complex communication needs
Come and enjoy morning tea in a lovely outdoor setting hosted by the Cognition in Autism Research Lab at Murdoch University. This relaxed, informal event is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other families who support children with complex communication needs, including minimally verbal and non-speaking autistic children. Come along and chat with our guest clinicians and researchers. There will be plenty of supervised indoor and outdoor activities to entertain your children.
Guest speakers will include researchers from the Cognition in Autism Research Lab, who will share some of the early outcomes from their studies into augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Representatives from Rocky Bay, AGOSCI, and AAC-technology companies will also be there to answer your questions!
Morning tea and refreshments will be provided - the event is FREE to attend.
Please register your attendance for this event and register children for the activity centre. If you are no longer able to attend, please let us know via email so that others don’t miss out.
