National School Psychology Week
During the week of November 8-12, 2021 schools throughout the United States celebrated National School Psychology Week (NSPW) to highlight the important work school psychologists and other educators do to help all students thrive.
This year's theme was "Let's Get in Gear." The theme's acronym provides a challenge to grow both personally and professionally. It encourages us to engage in best practices and advocate for children's access to mental health and learning supports. To rise implies resilience and renewal despite the challenges of the past.
The PTA recognizes the incredible work of our team of teachers, specifically the Student Services & Special Education Teams for their daily work to support our students and their families.

The President's Corner
And just like that, Quarter 1 is complete.
Pat yourselves on the back Running Brook, we have made it through the first quarter of school after a year of quarantine. There have been some adjustments needed along the way but we managed.
As we head into the 2nd quarter, I am looking forward to several opportunities we have scheduled. The Penguin Patch Holiday Shoppe will make a welcome return and a new program allowing students to raise funds for a non-profit of their choosing is going to kick off this winter!
I also look forward to continuing to build a stronger PTA by developing community partnerships to help advocate on behalf of our students. We have a unique geographical position that puts us at the front door of local businesses and community developers that we are not always harnessing. My goal for the 2nd quarter is to be more proactive in communicating with local businesses so they are aware of the opportunities available to support our programs.
The community of Running Brook Elem. extends far beyond the school's front doors.
