Missing SSID File - School Secretaries/Principals
Attached is an updated list of students who are missing their state ID (SSID). This prevents them from being loaded into testing portals. Please review this list and share any students from your school with the building enrollment specialist. Typically, the cause for a missing SSID is a missing birth city or missing ethnicity in PowerSchool. Also, please share the attached document with instructions on how to update demographics in PowerSchool.

NAEP
Earlier this month, the Ohio Department of Education notified K-8 schools that they were selected to participate in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). NAEP is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what students in the United States know and can do in various subjects. Your school was individually selected by NAEP to be a part of the NAEP 2024 Assessment- Ohio Sample.
We are following up to provide the next steps and additional information to prepare for the upcoming assessment.
To prepare for the assessment, BTC's and Principals please do the following:
- Log in and set up your NAEP AMS account using the link provided in the registration email from DoNotReply-NAEP@westatstudies.com.
The NAEP school coordinator (who is the BTC) should –
- know how to access student information, such as birth date, demographic information, and enrollment status.
- be comfortable using a computer, because all assessment preparation activities will be completed online.
- work with the designated onsite technology coordinator to complete technical logistics for assessment day.
- be familiar with how students participate in statewide assessments.

Early Learning Assessment
Fall Dates: 9/1/23 thru 11/14/23
ATTN: Pre-K Educators
The Early Learning Assessment is a state-mandated assessment for all pre-K students. The assessment is designed to aid teachers in determining where children are in their readiness for kindergarten. It normally consists of 72 individual Skills Knowledges & Behaviors (SKBs) and historically CMSD has only needed the 24 priority SKBs. For more info about the ELA, please click this link!
NEW THIS YEAR: CMSD Pre-K students will participate in the pilot launch of the updated Early Learning Assessment, bringing the total SKBs down to 34, to comply with SUTQ requirements for the 23-24SY. Educators MUST select the Pilot when logging in to the KReady system; entering data in the normal ELA will not suffice for completion. This is new this year and will cause problems for at least one educator, make sure your Pre-K teachers are aware. See image below.
Educators must be trained before they can give any KReady assessments; please contact Richard.A.Buehner@clevelandmetroschools.org ASAP if your building does not have a trained educator.
Students must be scheduled to their educator to show up within the KReady system. For pre-k students, scholars should be enrolled in an Early Education - (Half/Full) Day course in Powerschool with the correct educator. Failure to complete this step will prevent educators from reporting their assessment results.
For any questions regarding the Early Learning Assessment, please contact Richard.A.Buehner@clevelandmetroschools.org.
NEW!
AimsWebPlus Benchmark Assessments + Dyslexia RAN Screener
Fall Dates: 9/8/23 thru 9/29/23 (CLOSED)!!!
ATTN: K-6 Educators,
The AimsWebPlus Benchmark Assessments are short interactive assessments given by educators thrice a year to all K-3 scholars to comply with ODE's TGRG, to create RIMPs, and new for SY23-24, to fulfill ODE's Dyslexia Screening requirements. Scholars in grades 4-6 may only take the Oral Reading Fluency but only by parent/teacher request, and if they receive a pink ! in AWP on the ORF, they will take the RAN Colors & Shapes. The measures required by grade and window are different for each group. Please check the latest Early Childhood Newsletter here and check the Schoology Assessment page for updates.
Students in grades 1-3 that receive a pink exclamation quartile warning in specific measures must also give the Dyslexia Screener in AWP+ called the RAN (rapid automized naming) test. The RAN is due by the end of the same AWP+ window, so please ensure there is enough time to give the RAN on qualifying students before the assessment window closes. KG scholars will take the RAN during the Winter AWP+ window.
Please see the attached completion report and continue to administer any missing measures and dyslexia screeners as soon as possible. Please notice the other tabs for students; missing measures.
Students must be scheduled to their educator to show up within the AimsWebPlus system. Scholars should be enrolled in an English / Language Arts - Gr (K-6) course in Powerschool with the correct educator. Failure to complete this step will prevent educators from reporting their assessment results. AimsWebPlus Roster Corrections can only come through Powerschool syncs. If you believe Powerschool is accurate and a student is still missing or showing up when at least 48 hours have passed, please let Richard.A.Buehner@clevelandmetroschools.org know for further investigation.
For any questions about the AWP+ or the RAN dyslexia screener, please contact Richard.A.Buehner@clevelandmetroschools.org
New!
Nagelieri Nonverbal Ability Test 3rd Edition
Dates: 10/16/23 thru 10/27/23 (Open and EXTENDED!)
ATTN: Gr2 and Gr4 Educators
The Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test is an assessment CMSD uses to identify gifted & talented scholars. The NNAT3 is unique in that there is no language requirement; student scores are based on pattern recognition. Scholars access the assessment through the Pearson TestNav browser on iPads, Chromebooks, Macs, or Windows devices.
! ATTN ! Many scholars have reported issues using Single Sign On with Clever to access the assessment. Due to these issues, the due date for the NNAT3 is now Friday, October 27. Pearson and CMSD DoIT are cooperating on a resolution for SSO. In the interim, just as in previous years, student username & passwords will be created and distributed to BTCs to give to their proctoring staff. BTCs should expect to receive an email or a Schoology post in their BTC-only course when this information becomes available on 10/18/23.
All grade 2 and grade 4 educators should be able to log in using the Pearson - NNAT3 app in their Clever. Educators only need to log in here to view session data & report information. Educators should not create sessions, as each license used within any session is a purchased product. Sessions will be generated for every school on 10/17/23 - 10/18/23 unless scholars have already tested. Do not, under any circumstances, log a student into test more than once regardless of any completion report received. If you are ever unsure, please contact Richard.A.Buehner@clevelandmetroschools.org before assessing a student.
Students must be scheduled to their educator to show up within the Naglieri system. Scholars should be enrolled in an English / Language Arts - Gr (2,4) course in Powerschool with the correct educator. Failure to complete this step will prevent educators from reporting their assessment results or students from assessing. This applies to all students in Gr2-4 except MD/AU & LI. Please ensure all your scholars at your building in grades 2 and 4 have a schedule.
For any questions, please contact Richard.A.Buehner@clevelandmetroschools.org

PSAT 8/9 and PAST/NMSQT
The last Teams meeting with College Board staff was held today. It was successful as many attended and many good questions were asked and answered. Kristen sent everyone an email with various documents attached that would assist with the final stages of preparing your staff and students for testing. These same documents will also be posted in Schoology inside the College Board folder.
One point to note is the email that many staff members are saying they are not getting, please do have them check their email for "Access Test Day Toolkit" in the subject line for now. A BTC mentioned that her staff found this email in the "Other" folder of the email account and not the "Focused, Spam, or Junk" email folders. See if that works.
A very important point that was noted was to "Delete" students that you may register but will not show for testing. DO NOT DELETE ANY STUDENTS FROM SSOR for now, and for those that you register which may not show for testing, but do attend your school, Kristen (C) will send you instructions on what to do to remove any/all them so that schools/district are not billed for non-testers. So, as it stands now, do not worry about those you have registered and those you have not; further instructions will be forthcoming. Schools can go ahead and finalize/go forth with the registration process.
There is one more drop-in session scheduled for Thursday, October 19, from 3-4pm. This meeting will not have any CB staff available, just us, Avonnie and Cinderella. In the meantime, and between times do email, call or text either one of them. You can also schedule a Teams/Zoom meeting.
Testing starts Monday, October 23 and goes until Friday, October 27.
Excepts from Kristen's email:
"I have attached some resources that we discussed during the session:
- TDTK for Proctors
- Additional resources around accommodations
- College Board YouTube Channel - You will find the student-facing videos about the digital assessments, as well as explaining score reports available here
- PSAT/NMSQT Resources - Replaces the Test Coordinator manual and other manuals
- PSAT 8/9 Resources - Replaces the Test Coordinator manual and other manuals
I have escalated the issue with testing staff not receiving the TDTK access email and will follow-up when I have an update. Have staff search their email folders for "Access Test Day Toolkit" in the subject line for now." (Kristen Kayser, College Board)
