Wolf Lake Family Newsletter

February 2017

Welcome To February!

I can't believe that we have made it to February already! The weather in January was very kind to us, and allowed us to have more than usual classroom time for the month of January. We have a very busy next several months ahead of us. Consistent attendance is key at this time of the year for students and is helpful in the learning process. I hope to see lots of you at our PTO Father/Daughter Valentines Dance. Please stay in close contact with your chid's teacher if you have any questions, concerns, or praises. As always feel free to contact me as well!

Congrats CN Girls Basketball

Nationally Ranked

1st grader Ryder Goodman from Miss Pearson's class is now ranked #2 in the nation in his age group. Ryder competed in Louisville, Kentucky at a national BMX event and placed second for his age group! Way to go Ryder we are proud of you!

iPads at Home

Thank you all for your patience and willingness to work things out with our recent iPad-to- home deployment process. Be sure to contact the school with either a note or a phone call if you are having any problems with iPad usage in your home. Our Go Math curriculum online content website called Think Central has been having a lot of problems. I have been in contact with the company attempting to resolve our student account issues. Teachers are working with students to be sure that assignments are given in a way for all to complete regardless of internet availability at home. If you have any questions or concerns we really do appreciate a phone call or a note so that we can address them.

Upcoming ISTEP Testing for Grades 3,4, and 5

ISTEP testing begins at Wolf Lake Elementary on Tuesday, February 28 and will finish up on Friday, March 3. The time between these dates is known as the "testing window". ISTEP tests are only conducted in grades 3, 4, and 5. Students being tested are not taking a test on each day of the testing window. It is very important that students arrive at school prepared for testing. This means that a good night's sleep, breakfast, and feeling well enough to come to school if there has been a recent illness are all important. If you have any questions about particular tests or testing dates, please contact your child's classroom teacher.
