On God's Team, Players Take Turns & Do Their Part
This Sunday preschoolers are learning that "On God's Team, Players Take Turns" through the story of Nehemiah building the wall in Nehemiah 2-4, while elementary kids are learning that "On God's Team, Players Do Their Part" as they read the story of Moses, Aaron & Hur from Exodus 17.
For Us
We each have a part to play in the body of Christ! We can look at Exodus 17 to see how Joshua had a different part to play than Moses or Aaron & Hur but each of them were VITAL to God's plan. The same is true for you! The role you play is specifically prepared for you (Ephesians 2:10), it's individual, but it's also building collectively as a part of the story that the Lord is weaving. We need for you to do your unique role because it is helping to fulfill God's bigger plan, far beyond what you can see right now! Sometimes you might feel like the Lord is prompting you to do something that seems insignificant, but on the other side of obedience you might just see how the Lord was using it. Here are just a few examples I've gotten to see lately:
- A text of specific encouragement being received at the exact right time.
- Someone giving a car to the church to giveaway at a different campus & being able to see how the Lord used that to provide for a family & remind them of how much the Lord loves them.
- Asking someone to start serving in KidSpring when they've been praying & asking the Lord if he would confirm that was what He wanted them to do.
Application
Let's respond in boldness this week to any prompting we might experience from the Holy Spirit believing that He's using us as a part of His bigger story.
For Kids & Families
- Encourage parents in the part they are playing! The Lord has placed them as spiritual authorities in their kid's lives and that is such important kingdom work. Let's be their biggest encouragers!
- Kids have a part to play in the kingdom! Let's remind them of that! If they start letting that truth take root in their hearts now, then I believe that we'll see less insecurity in them as they're growing up! What if they started learning about purpose now? They can be encouragers in their small groups, they can serve other kids in KidSpring by resetting toys as they wait on their parents to pick them up, they can help first time kids feel welcome in their rooms, and the list can go on & on & on.
You’re invited to a KidSpring Team Night at the NewSpring Church Offices! This will be time for us to gather and hear vision & training for KidSpring! We'll provide dinner & you'll get your new KidSpring t-shirt.
