WEEKLY SNIPPETS
Greetings to all!! This week flew by as a quick flash of light. Monday was Columbus Day. We had no school on Monday for observance of this Holiday. Tuesday your children were kept very busy. They made jack-o-lanterns using different shape cut-outs. They pasted and created!! They also stamp printed shapes on a pumpkin shape to create jack-o-lanterns. They also were introduced to Mat Man. This will be an on-going activity. It teaches them that all letters are made up of curves and straight lines. They use actual sticks to create an image of "Mat-Man." They are asked to think about the lines and curves as they make the man. Afterwards, they are asked to re-create "Mat-Man" on their own drawing it on a piece of paper. They read Pumpkin Countdown during Circle Time. I was absent on Monday. Ms. Lisa stepped in for me and loved every minute spending such quality time with your children!!
On Wednesday, the children worked on their black crayon collage. They cut out 3 black things and pasted them to their black crayon and stamped the word "black" on it. They also created a design using payon crayons and a black wash. They also played Candy Land bingo. They read, My Crayons Talk. Ms. Lisa filled in for me today, as well.
On Thursday, we met at 9:30 am. We travelled to the Farmers Daughter where the children ran amongst the pumpkins, had an exciting ride in a wagon pulled by a tractor and picked their own pumpkins to take home. A juice snack was provided by the farm. They learned a little about pumpkins and then enjoyed their lunches .
It was another great week of learning through play. I am certain they had many exciting things to share with you about their experiences.

We have had an amazing couple of weeks of learning through play projects and activities. The children are forming friendships and are interacting and playing with each other. We are using 1,2,3 Magic as a way to improve behaviors and to reinforce our 5 classroom rules. Thank you so much for you support, understanding and cooperation. We are blessed with an amazing class this year!!!
