IEBA - Stephen Tolman Honorary Scholarship in Music Business
The IEBA - Stephen Tolman Honorary Scholarship in Music Business was established as an endowment by gifts from family and friends of Steve Tolman as a way to honor him and to assist students at Murray State University in obtaining an education to prepare them for a career in the field of music business. Recipients shall be full-time sophomore, junior, or senior students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Recipients shall be a member of Racer Live Productions and must secure a qualified internship the semester after the award. Applicants must be accepted into the Music Department. Recipients may reapply. Funds are maintained by the Murray State University Foundation.
J.P. Williams Honorary Scholarship in Music Business
The J.P. Williams Honorary Scholarship in Music Business was established as an endowment by a gift to the Murray State University Foundation from J.P. Williams to assist students at Murray State in obtaining an education to prepare them for a career in the field of music business. Recipients shall be full-time sophomore junior or senior students majoring in Music Business with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Recipients must be a member of Racer Live Productions and are required to complete an internship the semester following this award. Applicants must be accepted into the Music Department. James L. Hurley Construction Scholarship
The Hurley Construction Scholarship has been awarded by an individual endowment from the generosity of Mr. James L. Hurley. Recipients shall be incoming freshmen enrolled full-time at Murray State University who graduated from Marshall County High School. This award may be renewed for one year provided you continue to major in an area of engineering technology and maintain an acceptable grade point average. Funds are maintained by the Murray State University Foundation.
Leon Fleming Endowed Scholarship
L.J. Hortin Honorary Scholarship
The L.J. Hortin Honorary Scholarship is awarded by the Murray State Alumni Association. Recipients shall be incoming freshmen enrolled full-time at Murray State University majoring in journalism. This is a non-renewable award. Funds are maintained by Murray State University Foundation.
Paul R. McNeary Career & Technical Education Scholarship
The Paul R. McNeary Career & Technical Education Scholarship was established through the generous gifts of his family and friends. Recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students majoring in Career Technical Education-Engineering Technology Education with a minimum GPA of 2.75. Recipients may reapply. Funds are maintained by the Murray State University Foundation.
Pi Sigma Alpha Scholarship Fund
Pi Sigma Alpha was founded in 1920 at the University of Texas. Pi Sigma Alpha is based on student academic performance; and must complete ten semester hours of work in political science. The organization wishes to assist others in obtaining an education to prepare them for a career. The recipient for this scholarship must be a newly inducted member of the Zeta Phi Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha at Murray State University who is enrolled full-time and has the highest overall GPA in Political Science courses. This scholarship is a one-year award. Reward is non-renewable. Funds are maintained by the Murray State University Foundation.
Robert and Dolly Parton Petrie Endowed Scholarship
The Robert and Dolly Parton Petrie Endowed Scholarship has been established by their son Dr. Garth Petrie and his wife Dr. Pat Petrie both former Murray State University faculty members. This scholarship will memorialize Mr. and Mrs. Robert Petrie and will aid Murray State University students in obtaining an education to prepare them for a career in education. Recipients must be full-time undergraduate students majoring in a field of education (excluding health and physical education) and have attended a high school within Todd County or Carlisle County in Kentucky. A cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 and a university GPA of 2.75 is required. Recipients may reapply and be awarded up to a maximum of 4 academic years. Funds are maintained by the MSU Foundation.
Roy Winn Luckett/Dr. Thomas Gray Graphic Communications Scholarship
The Roy Winn Luckett/Dr. Thomas Gray Graphic Communications Scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement talents and commitment to major in a field of printing/graphic arts. Recipients must be a full-time incoming freshman from Kentucky or Tennessee. Recipients of award may reapply. Funds are maintained by the Murray State University Foundation.
Rubie E. Smith Scholarship
The Rubie E. Smith Scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student who will have obtained 60 semester hours at MSU by the beginning of the next academic year and who has attained a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25. The recipient must be eligible for admission to the Teacher Education program and be pursuing certification to teach children ages 5-12 with a concentration in Humanities. Renewal is based on re-application and competitive selection. Funds are maintained by the Murray State University Foundation.
Taste of the Arts (Art) Scholarship
The Taste of the Arts Scholarship is funded through all net proceeds from the annual A Taste of the Arts event. Funds are to be divided equally among the MSU College of Humanities and Fine Arts departments who actively participate in the annual event (Art & Design Music and Theatre). Recipients of this scholarship must be full-time undergraduate students at MSU majoring within the Department of Art and Design. Recipients will be required to give a presentation to the organization of Murray Art Students. This is a non-renewable award. Funds are maintained by the Murray State University Foundation.
Walter L. Wuster Memorial Scholarship
The Walter L. Wuster Scholarship is presented by Murray State Alumni Association. This award is based on continuing academic success in the technical fields of electronics or physics. Recipients shall be incoming freshmen enrolled full-time graduating at the top 10% of their class from Livingston County Kentucky. Recipients may reapply. Funds are maintained by the MSU Foundation.
William Ray Mofield Honorary Scholarship
Friends of Dr. Mofield and the Murray State University Alumni Association have established this award to honor a distinguished broadcaster, journalist, and educator with the hope that the standards of excellence established by Dr. Mofield be perpetuated. Recipients shall be full-time junior students majoring or minoring in advertising, graphic communications management, journalism, mass communications, public relations or television production. This is a non-renewable award. Funds are maintained by the Murray State University Foundation.
