Academic Awards
We will be hosting our annual Academic Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. To earn an Academic Award a student must have taken 6 or more classes and achieved a 3.5 or better Grade Point Average (GPA) with no grades below a "B" for the 2017-18 school year. A list of students can be found in the Auditorium and gym lobbies. A letter inviting students receiving the award and their parents was mailed home. Students should arrive in the first floor cafeteria at 6:00 p.m., no later than 6:15 to sign in.
Students that can not attend the ceremony can pick up their award in the counseling office during their lunch, before or after school. Please direct any inquiries to Ms. Jennifer Nelson.

Good Customer Service
Customer service remains an area of focus for OPHS. Good customer service is about bringing customers back and sending them away happy. Happy enough that they give positive feedback with in the community to other parents, students and staff. Below are simple, yet effective practices you can incorporate in your daily interactions to insure you are providing good customer service.
1. Address people quickly and with a smile when they walk in the building/office.
2. Answer your phone by the 3rd ring.
3. Listen to parents. Most of the time you can de-escalate an angry parent by just listening to their concern.
4. Be helpful and willing to find an answer for a parent, student or staff member. Take the time to regularly check the school website for upcoming events in order to provide accurate information.
Kronos Reminders
Yes, we all love Kronos! Just a few reminders on procedures we need to follow regularly.
*If you need me to adjust the time on your time card (clock in or clock out) all request must be in writing.
*Please include your supervisor, for approval when asking me to adjust your time card.
*Make sure you check your timecard regularly.
*Don't wait until the end of the pay cycle to ask me to make adjustments to your timecard.
*When requesting leave, make sure you request the correct amount of hours. Your total work day hours should not add up to more than 7 1/2 hours.
Happy Birthday!
