A Word from Principal Haynes
Greetings and WELCOME Parents,
We have eight days of learning under our belt and routines and procedures are being understood by all. One important procedure we MUST adhere to is dismissal. If you want to walk up to the gate to ask for your student, they MUST be identified as a walker and waiting for you in that area. We can no longer run through the school searching for your child that is sitting in the carline area. You MUST follow the proper dismissal procedures or wait in the carline. This is for the safety of all children!
"Back to School Forms" are coming home this week! In the folder you will see a set of papers that you need to sign and return. Please fill out the papers completely!! We need your MOST UP TO DATE contact information on the emergency form!! This is CRITICAL!! If an emergency happens and we don't have your information, it causes a delay! Also, if you have not filled out the blue half sheet "CONNECT WITH US" document, please do so, if you have already done it, thank you!! If you would like to complete the forms online, you can do that as well. Click the button below, complete the process and print the signed acknowledgement form to return to your child's teacher.
Open House is Wednesday, September 1st for Grades 3-5 only. It begins promptly at 6PM and we will be adhering to social distancing guidelines so we ask that CHILDREN REMAIN AT HOME and only 2 parents/guardians attend. Again, this is for the safety of everyone as we continue to be in the midst of a pandemic and our students are very vulnerable since they are unable to be vaccinated at this time.
Please remember that BCPS has adopted a mask mandate. As such, ALL persons entering campus are expected to be masked. This includes staff, students, parents, and visitors. Please pay close attention to the information in the newsletter and visit our school website for the most up to date information!
- Head Start Hours: 8:40AM to 2:40PM
- Kindergarten to 5th Grade Hours: 8:40AM to 3:10PM
- Front Gates Open at 8:00AM (ALL students enter on the 70th Avenue side)
- Breakfast is from 8:00AM to 8:30AM
There is a LOT of information in this newsletter, but PLEASE read it thoroughly!!
Wishing you an AMAZING and BLESSED week ahead!!

HEADPHONES FOR STUDENTS!!
If you have not purchased headphones for your child, PLEASE do so ASAP. In order for the children to work on iReady and other computer programs, they NEED headphones! You should purchase a good, steady pair that could last all year. Ear buds are not good for using at school, students need the kind that fits over their ears. Place the headphones in the ziploc bag to REMAIN at school so they don't get damaged.
