Reynolds Rockets News
October 2023
We have had a wonderful start to the 2023-2024 school year. All of our classes have enjoyed spending time getting to know their new classmates and teachers. During Community Circle, students have participated in a variety of activities that have helped build that sense of community. We also spent time reviewing our Reynolds Code of Conduct. Throughout the year, we will continue to revisit the Code to ensure that we understand how we can all be kind, respectful, and helpful members of our school community. Please review the Code of Conduct at home with your child and discuss your grade level scenario before signing it and returning it to the classroom teacher.
We are looking forward to our first Rocket Day on September 29th. On Rocket Days, we wear green and come together as a community. This month we will be talking about the Week of Respect, which will be celebrated from October 2nd-6th. There are so many exciting events during the month of October.

Halloween Parade
You are cordially invited to our Halloween Day Parade to be held on the front loop of Reynolds School on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. We will hold one parade for Reynolds School that will take place at 9:00 am. The children are asked to wear their costumes to school. They should bring clothes that they can change into following the parade.
For the safety of our children, we request that parents do not enter the building either before or after the parade. Assigned classroom parents will be available to assist with the class parties. Spectators are asked not to wear scary masks. Halloween is a fun time, but scary adult masks are not appropriate for our parades.
Due to the increased traffic volume on school grounds that day, parents may park in the grassy area on West Saddle River Road near Bogert School. Please do not block any vehicles!
In the event of rain, the parades will be cancelled. However, the children may still wear their costumes and dress for their parties. Dismissal for the day will be at the normal time. Remember to send in a note if dismissal plans are different for that day.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with this enjoyable event.
BUS SAFETY DRILLS
On October 17th, all Reynolds students will participate in an annual bus evacuation drill. Scholastic Bus Co. invites students to board a school bus and practice how to evacuate the bus via the rear emergency exit door. The teachers accompany the students during the bus evacuation. Students learn what to do in the event of a bus emergency and how to keep themselves safe. Mandatory bus drills benefit all students, as students travel on a bus for field trips and many to/from school. A second bus evacuation drill will be held in the spring.
