For 6th and 7th grade!
Class Updates
The 6th and 7th grade Orchestras are off to a great start this year!
6th grade Orchestra is working on quarter and eighth note combinations, "Pepperoni Pizza Rock," note reading, and just got a new song called the Frog Prince. Students from each section have been invited to bring in something Green or White to be our class mascot. Each class will vote on their favorite, and it will live in our room!
7th grade Orchestra is working on beginning shifting exercises, scales, new rhythms, songs like Medieval Kings, Sword Dance, Eagle's Pride, and just got a Green Day song this week!
Our first concert for 7th grade is Thursday, October 27th at 7:00 PM.
Orchestra Handbook Forms - Due Wednesday
Students in 7th grade are to return the handbook form received in class on Wednesday, September 21st as a homework grade. Students in 6th grade are to return the handbook on the 21st if they are a Green day (6th grade will receive the form to complete on Monday or Tuesday), and 22nd if they are a White day. Let me know if you have any questions!
Fundraiser Update
Donations to directly benefit the Orchestra program are also accepted at any time. Checks can be made out to Strongsville Middle School.
Thank you for helping support our Orchestra program! Your participation in the fundraiser allows me to provide additional opportunities for your son or daughter, including new music they request, programs at concerts, guest artists and conductors, etc. This year, I am also hoping to raise enough money to purchase a few extra violins and violas for students to borrow so they have something to use in class if they forget their instrument.
SIMB needs SMS Orchestra parents to help at football concessions!
Did you know? All profits from Strongsville football game concessions go to helping our Band and Orchestra programs!
SIMB is looking for SMS Orchestra parents to work at Homecoming game (October 7th) so band parents are able to see their children perform the halftime show. There are many jobs, with shifts starting anywhere from 4:30 to 7:30. They are flexible on the amount of time you can help out! This is a great way to get involved with the music program and make some new friends.
I'll be volunteering too - hope to see you there!
Below is the link to sign up for a time slot. If you have any questions, you can contact Patty Bischof, SIMB membership chair, at (216) 404-9706.

Private Lessons
Please contact me for a specific teacher recommendation. I like to pair students with specific teachers I think they would enjoy studying with.
Private lessons are generally 30-45 minutes, once per week. Private lessons focus on students' individual needs and provide advanced instruction on technique.
