Summer School Programs
Summer Remediation
This is for grade 3 Math, grades 4-8 Reading and Math, and grades 5 & 8 Science. Per the state, in order for a student to test again, they must have a learning opportunity outside the school year.
We will begin remediation on June 13 and have class through June 26. Students will come for 2 hours a day/subject. ELA will test on Wednesday, June 27, and Math will test on Thursday, June 28.
Summer Reading Camp
This is for students who have completed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade, and is by invitation only, based on the student's mClass score. Invitations for the Summer Reading Camp have already gone home and most registrations have been returned.
Summer Reading Camp will run from 8:00-12:00 on the following days: July 9-12, 16-19, 23-26. Students in the 3rd grade who have not yet tested proficient in reading will have the opportunity to take the Read to Achieve test on July 26.
E Link Testimony from KHS Parent-Carpool
Dear Kestrel Heights Families,
Like many parents last year, I found myself between a rock and hard place, I simply could not arrange my work schedule to accommodate the transportation needs of my three children and it was stressful. Luckily another parent referred to a resource that I’ve come to rely on, E Link.
After reaching out and having an in-depth discussion with one of the owners I was pleased to learn the Elink had been created by a couple in the same boat. They were offering a service to help the community that was reliable, safe and affordable. Not only was Elink able to accommodate before and after pick-up and drop off they were flexible and often helped when our kids had after school practices and clubs.
Daily texts notifying me the kids had been picked up from school put me as ease. Elink provided me with a piece of mind knowing my children were with responsible members of the community that had all been background checked. I stand behind Elink and support them as they grow and are evolve becoming a staple in the community, ultimately helping children and parents navigate our busy lifestyles. Without a doubt I recommend Elink and fully endorse their mission.
Kind Regards,
Cydney Walker
