ADW ED TECH-ER
Information & Resources from the ADW Director for Ed Tech
All Regions Educational Technology Educators Meeting Survey - Please complete
In preparation for our Spring all regions ed tech educators meeting, we have created a 3 question survey. Please save the date, March 29, 2019 from 9:30-2:30 at St. Columba School. We hope to see lots of new attendees as well as everyone who made it to the fall meeting. It is important as an educational technology educator that you take an active role in growing your PLN/PLC (professional learning network/community). Attending these meetings is just a piece of the puzzle. Please know that during our Spring Collaboration Days, we will NOT have our dedicated ed tech time together therefore, we hope you can make it on March 29th. In an effort to provide the most useful content possible, we are asking each of you to complete this brief form ASAP. We want our time together to be so enticing that your principals will be begging you to attend!

ISTE + NCEA = ISTE Certified Educator Cohort
ISTE Certified Educator NCEA Partnership Opportunity
The Archdiocese of Baltimore in conjunction with NCEA is developing a cohort for administrators and teachers to become ISTE Certified Educators. This professional development opportunity is focused on pedagogy, based on the ISTE Standards and aligned to the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Schools. Participants will discover new and improved strategies to integrate pedagogically-driven practices into instruction. As part of the cohort, participants will attend a two day workshop on Thursday, March 14 and Friday, March 15, complete four self-paced e-learning courses and submit an e-portfolio demonstrating integration of ISTE Standards into practice. Participants will earn 2 in-service credits from Dominican University. We are inquiring to see if they can be used towards MSDE certification. Tuition is $595. If interested, please submit your intention by clicking on this link and completing the Google Form by February 1. If there is enough interest in this opportunity, the AOB Department of Catholic Schools will notify ISTE of our intention to participate and applicants of their acceptance in the cohort. Click for: more information about the program, a sample program syllabus, a slide presentation and a justification for using federal funds to support tuition. We are excited about this new opportunity! If you have additional questions, contact nancy.reed@archbalt.org and norriss@adw.org.

#OneWord
When your students return to the classroom this month, try creating a #oneword for your class. Post their class #oneword on the board where they make great discussion topics for other classes. When you feel as thought you are getting off track or need a boost, students, and sometimes the teacher, can direct attention to the class #oneword as a point of encouragement.
Creating a class #oneword is a great way to encourage students to take part in developing and maintaining a positive classroom culture, while encouraging their classmates and teacher to be intentional in the learning environment.
