Lone Star Language Academy
Important Information and Reminders
With the recent change in temperature, please be sure that your child is appropriately dressed for the weather. Make sure names are clearly written inside all jackets/outerwear.
Parent Portal is a web-based service that gives parents the ability to access student data. Parents use a confidential personal identification number and password to view their student’s grades, attendance, assignments, and other information. If you have not yet established your account please contact Ms.Carrera at email@example.com.
Attendance – This page displays a record of your student’s attendance entries for the current school year. Teachers and Ms. Carrera generate the attendance entries. Entries of concern can be discussed with the office. If a student is absent a note to excuse the absences must be submitted within 48-hours of the absence.
Assignments - Assignments are graded in a timely manner such as homework, quizzes, tests, projects, etc. Once a teacher defines, organizes, and scores the class assignment, the student data will be viewable to Parent Portal users. There may be times when you do not see scores for a particular assignment. Please allow a few days for the teacher to enter data.

A note from the Nurse's office:
Any medication including over the counter medication should accompany a prescription from the physician and a form filled out in the school office.
This includes cough drops, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, and cough syrup, etc.
Please do not send medication to school with your child without the required documentation.
Without the required documentation the medicine will not be given and you may be required to come to the school to administer it or to pick up your child.
Thank you for your cooperation
BOX Tops for education
Easy Ways to Help LSLA Earn “Free” Money!
Clip Boxtops for Education – Each boxtop brought in is worth 10 cents to the school.
Thank you to all our families for your continued support. All “free” money that is given to our school goes to support our students in many ways. It is used for supplies, programming, field trips, and much more.
Visit BTFE.com for a list of participating products and additional ways to earn.
Please keep your child's carpool number/tag on your dashboard until you have your child in the car. It is necessary for Coach Hurtado to see the number so she can call for the student when you pull close to pick up. We appreciate your help!
Currently, all parents have been given their permanent carpool tags.
In order for a student to be dismissed, it is important that the person in the vehicle has the newly updated carpool tag.
With no carpool tag, we are NOT allowed to dismiss the student endless prior arrangements were made with the LSLA Main Office.
November Menu Now Available
We are happy to share with you that our menu now includes daily Dairy Free (DF) options. We are excited to be able to serve the dietary needs of all students and give every child a delicious, healthy meal!
Our November Menu, with the new options, is now available for ordering. Click on the link above to order.
Message from the Main Office:
The students first visit to the LSLA Library was Friday, October 12th. The students took the time to visit the library for 30 minutes during their ELAR block. The students where able to tour the library and learn the ins and outs about checking-out books. LSLA Library is looking for donations for the library. Bookmarks! LSLA Library is looking for volunteers to work from home to make bookmarks for our library users. Suggested size range is 1 1/2- 2" X 6-8". Bookmarks can be made from fun patterned scrapbook paper, old greeting cards, old picture books, cereal boxes, etc. What a fun activity to do with your child!
Now that fall is upon us, we know that temperatures can swing very quickly. Please make sure that your child comes dressed for the appropriate weather condition. When temperatures are under 50 degrees, please make sure that your child comes to school with a sweater/coat. As temperatures increase, these can be removed, but please plan accordingly. Also, please make sure to label your child’s coats and sweatshirts. This will help there to be less items in our lost and found.
Accidents happen and when they do, children do often need to change their clothing. It is always a good idea to have an extra set of clothing packed in your child’s backpack in case an accident should happen.
It's time to start collecting BOX TOPS! It's easy to participate! Just bring all your box tops from home and drop them off with your child's teacher. Each BoxTop you clip and submit is worth 10 cents, and they add up fast!
Our goal daily is to keep our building as safe as it can be for our students and staff. As you enter the elementary school during the day, we kindly ask that all parents, guardians, and visitors check into the main office, sign in, and wear a visitor badge. It is great to see visitors in the building and support our school, and we highly encourage this participation. We appreciate your cooperation and attention to helping keep our building safe!
