Week of 2/11/19

Volunteer Appreciation Week

We just couldn't do it all without you! Please stop by the sojourn for a snack any time next week while you are on campus! We appreciate all that you do to help!

Valentine's Notes

We will not be having a Valentine's Party on the 14th; however, we will be exchanging Valentine cards as a class, that day.

If your child has a decorated box from a previous year that they would like to bring in they may. We will have bags for students to decorate that morning.

Spreading Titan Love this Valentine's Day

Every year as a campus we come together around Valentine's Day and "Spread Titan Love" for a school-wide service project. This year we are going to be partnering with Dell Children's Hospital. They are in need of stuffed animals! When a sick child checks into Dell, the hospital gives them a stuffed animal to comfort them along their journey of treatment. We will be collecting new, average sized stuffed animals in the main hallway for the next two weeks! (Feb. 4th-15th). The stuffed animal should be able to fit into your child's backpack. Each child who donates a stuffed animal will receive a heart sticker to show that they helped "Spread Titan Love."

Thank you for your support in our yearly school wide service project.

Reading: We can analyze, make inferences, and draw conclusions about expository texts and provide evidence from the text to support our understanding.

Writing: We can use dialogue correctly in our writing. We can "show what we know" on a district assessment.

Social Studies: We can analyze the causes and major events, which led to the Texas Revolution.

Lesson 14 HomeLink

Reminders from Nurse Jenny

Cold and flu season are here. Please remember that if students have a temperature they need to stay home until they have been fever free for 24 hours without any medication. That policy also includes if they have been vomiting or if they have diarrhea. Please encourage hand washing!

It is a good practice to check your student regularly for lice. If you are not sure how to do that the following link has a lot of helpful information

https://www.cdc.gov/parasites/lice/head/index.html

Please report to the nurse if your student has the flu, strep, a fever or lice. All information is kept confidential.
