Eagleville Elementary-Eagles Nest

Dr. Harmer Principal 9/9/22

Message from Dr. Harmer

Hello Eagleville Families,

I am pleased to announce the "Eagle Feather" award and recognition. Staff will be keeping a keen eye out for students and even staff that are demonstrating exceptional kindness at our school. I will recognized the recipients of the "Eagle Feather" on my Friday morning announcements. Recipients will also receive a certificate and will write their name on a feather that will be displayed on the "Eagle Feather" bulletin board outside our cafeteria. Eagleville is all about kindness!

New Five Day Schedule

All the elementary schools will be operating on a five day (1,2,3,4,5) day cycle. The first day of school in day 1, the second day of school is day 2, etc. This will prevent students from missing certain classes that happen on certain days of the week. The link below will give you the days numbered for the entire year.

Counselor's Corner

This week Kinders practiced some skills to make friends. These skills include making eye contact, using that just right voice volume and always using kind words. You can reinforce this lesson with any grade student by practicing these skills at the dinner table, during activities with your child, on playdates or even allowing them to order their own meal at restaurants. Social skills are lifelong skills that often help develop confidence. If you need support with social skills with your child, please contact Ms. Shaw at LShaw@methacton.org or 610-489-5000 X41207

Bus and Car Rider Backpack Tag

We highly recommend writing down your child’s bus number or if they are a car rider (Write this on the How I get Home line) and attaching it to their backpack (luggage tags work great for this, you can find them at the dollar store). This will greatly assist students at dismissal time. Many students (even fourth graders), forget their bus number by the end of their first day. If you don’t have a tag, you can make one on paper with this template.
