S'more Thinking = S'more Learning......at Grandview!
Honor the Past, Nurture the Present, Prepare for the Future!
This week brought the start of our mid year assessment window. We look forward to reviewing our data to see how much growth our students are making and where we can continue to help them.
We had our monthly Reading Cafe this past week. We had a nice turnout of parents coming to see how best to help their child at home. This is a great time to talk with our talented staff, meet parents and the kids have fun together as well! We hope you join us in February!
The staff would like to ask for your help in leaving Bay Blades at home. They are causing a disruption in the classroom, lunchroom and playground. Therefore we ask your students please leave them at home for your students to enjoy - please do not let them come to school. Thank you!
There are many new dates below on the calendar. Check them out!

Shoparoo
Way to go Grandview! We’ve surpassed the 55,000 Roo Point mark! In fact we’re almost at 60,000 Roo Points! Our next major milestone goal is 100,000 Roo Points ($200)! Keep shopping & scanning, we’ll hit 100,000 in no time!
You don’t have Shoparoo? It’s easy, just grab your phone, download the FREE app, scan your receipts & watch the Roo Points add up! Remember, every receipt counts towards Roo Points or contest entries. Don’t forget to ask family & friends to Shoparoo too! You do not need a child at Grandview to participate. Grama, Grandpa, Aunts & Uncles can Shoparoo to benefit Grandview! If you have any questions, please contact Stacey Wittscheck, (586) 222-3641.
Popcorn Friday’s
What could possibly make cuddling up on the couch with the family, snacking on yummy popcorn & watching a movie on a Friday night any better??? Having someone else make the popcorn for you! That’s exactly what we did today! Don’t worry if you forgot to order popcorn today; we’ll have freshly popped popcorn waiting for you soon! The next few Popcorn Friday’s are…
02/02/18
02/16/18

GRANDVIEW HIGHLIGHTS!
Each month, we meet as a school community and learn a new character trait.
January focus = TEAMWORK
Ask you child!
Mustang of the Week/Mustang of the Month
Teachers are choosing a student each week to honor!! Students are chosen based on teacher recommendation: student progress, effort, improvement, character, grit, citizenship, and more.
Principal's Breakfast
Mustangs of the Week are invited to the Mustang of the Month Principal's Breakfast!
We have honored 75 students this year!
Horseshoe Heroes
Students are working on living the character trait of the month. When students live their trait, teachers are catching them being a 'Horseshoe Hero' and are rewarding with a sticker on their individual horseshoe. When the students fill their horseshoe with the lucky number of 13 stickers, they are honored as a 'Horseshoe Hero' at the next Mustang Assembly.
Help Needed
Help Needed: We are requesting your help with our drop off and pick up procedures. Please remember at the end of the day, you must park and walk up to meet your child at the front parent walk up/pick up spot. The front parking lot does not have a loop, you must park. However, the back parent drive up does have a loop, and you can have your child brought to you! Also, our teachers teach until 3:43pm. Please save early pick ups for appointments and high need. Thank you!
