Information about AP English Literature and Composition
Course Description
Honors Literature 12 is a full-year English course that involves the student in both the study and practice of writing and the study of literature. It emphasizes a concentration on three literary genres: poetry, drama and the novel. Students will read widely and reflect on their reading through extensive discussion and writing. Both the reading and writing should make them aware of the interaction between authorial purpose, audience needs, the subject itself, generic conventions and the resources of language: syntax, word choice, tone, etc.
