Principal's Corner

We had another great week at GWT! We had a surprise fire drill and the students did GREAT! I am always impressed by how quickly the students learn the safety rules and procedures. Our teachers do a great job of teaching and reinforcing these very important protocols so students know what to do and when to do it. We also had another great "Fabulous Friday" treat of room service for our teachers and staff. Thank you to everyone who provided treats for our teachers.

We would also like to thank Affordable Tree Service for removing a fallen branch from our Pre-K-Kindergarten playground. You can tell by the pictures below, the students certainly enjoyed the show!

Just a couple of reminders:

School pictures are Tuesday, September 15th. These pictures will go into our school yearbook so we want all of our students to be present for picture day.

Thursdays are Spirit Days (see chart below) and Fridays are Fan Days (wear DHS Tiger shirts).

Hope you have a wonderful week! Thank you for letting us teach and love your children!

Cyber Tigers Connect!

Virtual Students

Hey Cyber Tigers and parents! You are doing a great job! Please remember to read the announcements page before clicking on the classwork tab. We have started adding our daily attendance assignment, as well. In order to be counted present, you must select your name from the pull down menu. This is worth a daily grade of 20 points! If you sign in late or not at all, you will be counted absent and lose these extra points. We have also started our weekly assessments (usually on Friday). We did have some glitches this week but we hope to work those out this week. Thank you for your patience!

This week we will be STAR testing our virtual students. This is required by the state so if you have not called to set up an appointment, please do so Monday. All K-3 students must take this test. We will use this information to monitor progress and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of our students.

And lastly, don't forget school pictures are Tuesday, September 15th. Virtual students can come anytime between 8-12 to have their picture made.
