Pine Class News Update
September 25, 2015
A short, but productive week for the Pines!
We're looking forward to a full week of school next week! It will be great to see all of the work on routines and systems in practice as the Pines get into the swing of things!
The Pines are reading everywhere!
Organizing the library
The Pines have done a beautiful job sorting, categorizing, and labeling our new classroom library. We can't wait to dive in to all these wonderful books!
Classroom provocations!
What do you notice about the feathers under the glass or the plant in the water?
Guided exploration of watercolors!
Building together. Using natural tree blocks.
Some new, stiffer scraps were added to the paper bin and sculptures are growing taller! This one stands tall for a cause.
Extra Clothes Reminder
Please send your child with a ziplock bag of extra clothes. We don't anticipate very many bathroom emergencies in 2nd grade, but we want to be prepared for art projects carrying over onto clothes, water fountain explosions, or the unfortunate sick stomach. Thanks!
Activities and Fun outside of school!
Thanks to Elizabeth and Gerad, Ames' parents, for helping to organize a fun time in the park this weekend! Here's to more Pine fun outside of school!
Also, if you find anything interesting to share with the class - museum exhibits, kid focused events, or performances - please pass them on to Paul and Anna via email and we will add them to the newsletter.
