A little bit about me...
I have lived in many states, but my favorite nature states are Washington and Idaho. I have been married to my best friend for the last 34 years and are hoping for another 34. We blended our family of five children and later added two foster daughters that are still our daughters.
My professional focus is education. Currently, I am the Manager of Academic Advisory and Student Affairs at a Career College in Vancouver, WA. I work with a continual flow of adult students. We have five programs with an enrollment of approximately 300+ students year round. Our diversities and cultures can create a challenge and adventure within the classroom. My duties include a multiple of hat wearing: Advisory, Student Affairs, CPR/FIRST AID trainer, teacher, Tutor & Mentor Program Coordinator, and finally I am the Safety and Fire Coordinator.
I received both of my degrees at Ashford University as an online student. I worked full-time while attending both of these degree programs. My greatest take away from these experiences was/is the teamwork and support within each classroom environment. I learned my way through the online environment from my colleagues.
I was not aware of CHAMPS. I look forward to being a member of this team in supporting new students through the online experience: Success
