Career Description

Carpenters construct and repair building frameworks and structures, such as stairways, door frames, and rafters. Also any other thing made out of wood and other materials. They can also install siding,and kitchen cabinets.


To be a carpenter you at least need your high school diploma or similar to that. Most carpenters learn the trade through a 3 or 4 year apprenticeship. Some carpenters don't even do an apprenticeship, they learn on the job starting as a helper.
