A Message from the Principal
Dear PVES Families,
Hello and Happy New Year! I hope you and your family are as excited about the possibilities of 2019 as I am! My hope is that it will be out best year yet as a school and community! We have amazing students, amazing families, and of course, AMAZING teachers and staff...anything is possible!
You may be aware that our school and division are exploring innovation and constantly pushing to further engage our students and enhance the educational experiences we can provide for children. While technology certainly has a part to play in this is, we view it as one tool, not the only tool through which we can accomplish our goal of creating a more student centered and dynamic learning experience each day. Students creating, experimenting, collaborating, building, learning by trouble-shooting mistakes and generally being active participants in their own learning are all part of what we are practices that we are emphasizing. This was not necessarily my school experience and perhaps not yours. School is certainly starting to look differently than it has and my hope is that you are as excited about this as I am. If at any time you have questions about what you see or hear about in your child's classroom, please don't hesitate to ask his/her teacher! It's an exciting time to be both a student and an educator and our partnership has never been more important!
We have had a wonderful first half of our school year and are looking forward to continuing that momentum on through the rest of the year! Thank you for your support, communication and partnership!
Sincerely,
Sara Hammill
Principal
