ACE AND HOOP OF LEARNING
Earn 24 or More College Credits While in High School with ACE or Hoop of Learning!
Achieving a College Education (ACE)
The transition from high school to college can be challenging — especially if there are financial barriers in your way. Achieving a College Education (ACE) helps make it easier and can help ensure your success. ACE is an early college two-year scholarship preparation program designed to help first-generation, underrepresented, financially disadvantaged college-bound students succeed. Through the program, you can earn up to 24 college credits during your junior and senior years of high school. You’ll take classes on the CGCC campus to experience and get used to a college environment and ease your transition. Students apply during their Sophomore year, and selected students will attend classes during their Junior and Senior years of high school.
Hoop of Learning is an early high school to college bridge program designed to empower American Indian students to complete high school and transition successfully to higher education. Based on a traditional American Indian worldview of a circle, or hoop, of lifelong development, Hoop of Learning offers support, friendship, and help with academic questions and needs. And taking classes through Hoop builds your college resume while providing new experiences and connections to other American Indian students. Interested students may apply during their Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior year, and will be able to attend for the remainder of their time in high school.
