Upcoming Community Events

Summer Meals for Students

The Child Nutrition Program will be serving free meals to students 18 years and younger in and around our communities this summer. Please notify the members of your community through school and/or church newsletter, websites, social media, etc. to reach as many people as possible who will benefit from free meals during the summer.

The schedule below for the community Summer Feeding sites. Sites will run from 9AM-12PM. Each site will receive 750 boxes to be handed out to students by our staff, regardless of income or location of residence. Boxes will be available until supplies run out, so it is a first come, first serve basis. Each box contains 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, and 1 gallon of milk. Each child will receive 1 box. If a child is not present during pickup, a form will need to be filled out by the adult picking up.

We will be posting site times and locations throughout the summer on our Instagram page @diobr_childnutrition.

Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Baton Rouge

School is almost out for summer! That means it's the perfect time for students and parents to learn more about the Young Entrepreneurs Academy of Baton Rouge (YEA BR). Students entering grades 8-12 are eligible to apply now to be part of the 2021-22 class of student CEOs. Our plan is to hold in-person classes at the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business.

The early bird application window is now open! Students who apply by June 30 qualify for a $100 tuition discount. Need-based scholarships are also available.
