Please mark your calendar! The GMAS testing window for FMES will begin on April 24 and run through May 5. For specific testing dates and content area, see the schedule below.

Language Arts - April 24, 25, and 26 - 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades
Math - May 1 & 2 - 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades
Science - May 5 - 5th grade only

Also, make sure to visit the Georgia Milestones page on the GCPS website. There you will find GMAS Study/Resource Guides, directions on how your child can access the GMAS online practice testing site, as well as, resources that provide questions relatively similar to the GMAS and daily practice questions.

If your child will be a new Kindergartner to Gwinnett County Public Schools for the 2023-24 school year (and be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2023), Kindergarten Online Registration is now open! To register your Kindergartner for the 2023-24 school year, visit the Kindergarten Registration for 2023-24 School Year section on our school website.

Staff Appreciation Week will be next week May 1-5. If you would like to give gifts to any teachers or staff members, you may send them in with your student to give directly to teachers or staff members. Thank you for taking the time to recognize our amazing FMES staff!

FMES Relay for Life is creating a Bear Family "Hit Cancer Out of the Park" t-shirt to honor those that have been affected by cancer. We invite you to join us at the Hamilton Mill branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library on Tuesday, May 9, anytime from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Some of our amazing staff members will be there to greet you and help introduce you to the awesome programs the Gwinnett County Public Library offers all year long - the public library is WAY MORE than just books! Of course, they have high-interest books for all ages, and this would be a great night to check out some fun new reads!

Please join us for our final PTA Meeting of the year and the 4th/5th Grade Chorus Performance on Thursday, May 11, at 6:00 pm in the FMES Cafeteria.

FMES Field Days are scheduled for May 15, 16, & 17. Parents are welcome to attend. See schedule below.

Tuesday, May 16: 9:00 - 11:00 - 2nd Grade / 1:00 - 3:00 - 3rd Grade

Wednesday, May 17: 9:00 - 11:00 - 4th Grade / 12:30 - 2:45 - 5th Grade

Join us Thursday, May 18 for FMES spirit night at Culver’s! We hope to see you at the Culver’s Mall of Georgia in Buford between the hours of 5:00 - 8:00 pm. 10% of all the proceeds from the night will be donated to FMES, so be sure to invite your friends. We hope to see you there!

On Friday, May 19th, the entire school is invited to participate in our annual dance. For grades K-2, the Glow Dance will be held in their classroom. Admission is (1) donation item (deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, bar soap) or 5 Bear Bucks. Glow items will be sold that morning for $0.50-$3.00. For grades 3-5, we are hosting a Sneaker Ball/Glow Dance in the gym during their specials time. Admission is $3 cash or $1 cash and (1) donation item (deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, bar soap). Snacks and glow items will be sold at the dance.

If your child has medication in the FMES clinic we have it ready for you to pick up. Mrs. Bryce, our clinic worker, will be in the clinic, Monday - Friday, from 8:30 - 2:30. Please pick up medication by Friday, May 26. If you have any questions, please call the school clinic at 678-377-8957.
