PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Kia ora tātou,

This week's newsletter is later due to the huge range of events we have had our tamariki involved in. I want to thank everyone who has made the events possible - our staff, our whānau, our tamariki and our outside organisations. Ngā mihi mahana koutou.

Yesterday we held two of our three Cross Country races and today those results (and others) will be shared in a Sports Assembly at 10am today. Whaea Lynne will also name our Interschool Cross Country team for the 3rd November event at Poroutawhao School.

Earlier in the week Matua Ricky and Whaea Lynne ran a session for teachers across the Horowhenua on teaching Ki o rahi, with the goal of increasing participation in this sport. Watch this space!

Last week saw Snap Golf skills being taught and the enjoyment was obvious. It also saw the final boxing Fitness sessions, another area where there was a lot of enjoyment.

We also held a very successful Multicultural evening with lovely food being shared and both our Pasifika and kapahaka groups performing. They were beautiful and the progress they have made is clearly evident. It was lovely to have Mr and Mrs Bennett present a sand art story on the night as well. And let's not forget the discos from last Friday - fabulous fun!

As you can see, we are a busy place!

Coming up we have our Multicultural Dress Up day tomorrow, a Duffy Role Model assembly next Wednesday (Granny Jo is our role model), Road Patrol training and a Wheels Day celebration on Thursday. More information on these is available on Hero!

I am very proud to be able to support the activities and opportunities our children have before them. It is part of who we are.

Kia pai tō wiki.

Ngā mihi

Rikki Sheterline
