4th grade has been building away during a sensational collaboration with the Oak Park Education Foundation and Architecture Adventure. In small groups, students picked a famous Chicago skyscraper to recreate out of cardboard. Every day has been exciting. Day 1: planning and drafting, Day 2: building, Day 3 & 4: gesso, paint and details. We are all excited to see them completed!

The Kindergarteners have been learning folk dances recently! This dance is called "Seven Jumps." We also have just learned the Kinderpolka and there are more coming soon. Folk dancing teaches Kindergarteners how to work together, follow patterns, and increases listening skills. Not to mention its just good fun! Ask your child to show you a dance!- Ms. Hansen

Segundo Grado
The second graders did an amazing job on their showcase! We watched several fairy tales in Spanish and learned all the key vocab. I was very proud of their reading fluency and dramatic expression. We have now moved on to minihistorias and will be playing jeopardy to wrap the year up!
Cuarto Grado
The fourth grade completed imovies and trailers about estudiante loco to wrap up the unit. They are currently working on a superhistoria collaboratively written by all classes about Natalia el unicornio. Students have been taking leadership roles in the classroom by acting as the teacher for 10 minutes as they ask the class questions in Spanish about the story. We will be performing several assessments as the year closes to measure student growth and end the year with several fun activities.
