Brief History
The first settlement was around 2000 B.C. The most important settlements were the Nok Tha and the Ban Chiang, but Ban Chiang settled around 3,500 B.C. Around the birth of Christ they already had 10 cities/ states with the most important city/state being Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Ayuthaya
Ayuthaya was a state where the king was lord over all of life. A royal language was even used when speaking to him or his family. Ayuthaya's society was organized under King Trailok.
Writing/ Language
Their language is called ' Siamese Thai.' The writing is called 'Thai.'
Wars
Thailand has been in quite a few wars, but some of them are World War I and II, the Vietnam War, and the Korean War.
Traditions
Some of their traditions are festivals. They big main festival every year is celebrating the King and Queen's birthdays.
Goverment
The government of Thailand is Constitutional Monarchy. Constitutional Monarchy is a form of government in which a monarch, acts ahead of state, within the guidelines of the constitution.
Religion/ Culture
There is no official religion in Thailand, but the king is required by law to be Buddhist, but according to the last census which was in 2000, 94.6% of people in Thailand are Buddhist. The next largest religion there is Muslim with 4.6%. The other .8% of people living in Thailand have no religion. Buddhist people belief that you shouldn't harm or kill living things, do not abuse or any drugs or alcohol, speak kindly and don't tell lies, and do not take things unless they are freely given.
