LCMS Weekly Newsletter

Friday, August 12

Dear Lubbock-Cooper Middle School Families,

It is with heavy hearts that we inform the LCP family of the passing of Lubbock-Cooper Girls Athletics Coordinator and former LCMS Principal Tami Gunset.

Tami was a Lubbock native, and spent almost two decades as a loyal Pirate. During her time at LCISD, she served as an assistant coach, head coach, teacher, assistant principal, principal, and girls athletics coordinator. Education wasn't Tami's job, it was her life. She was a supporter of children - her own, and all of ours. She was the very definition of a servant leader. There was nothing Tami would ask of another that she wouldn't do herself, and her enthusiasm for helping students and staff succeed was unmatched. There will never be another Tami Gunset, and we will miss her humor, passion, and determination, all of which she maintained through the very end of her time on Earth.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Tami's family, our fellow members of the LCP family, and the hundreds of staff, students, and families whose lives were made better because of Tami Gunset.

Here are some upcoming dates, information, and a map to show drop off/pick up locations for this school year. Please review the information below and call our office with any questions.
