Staff Spotlight! Get to know your LMS Staff!
Angelica Hernandez, Teacher
Place of Birth: East LA
Years at Lincoln: 1
Favorite Educator: I have had two teachers who profoundly impacted my life. My sixth-grade teacher, Dayla Sims, brought so much joy to the classroom. Her assignments were in depth and allowed for creativity. The second, my high school PE teacher/coach Laurie Atkinson, she coached us to do our best, she never raised her voice and was always encouraging.
They each in their own way took a genuine interest in who I was as their student. And unlike previous teachers, who tried to squelch my energy and dismiss my intellect, they were curious about my thoughts and opinions. It was their kindness and acceptance that left a lasting impact on who I am and how I teach today. It is a great honor to still have these two women in my life today.
Fun Fact: I used to do special effects make-up for the Nations's Largest Haunted House, Hades in Chicago, Illinois.
Amy Di Dario, Librarian
Place of Birth: Princeton NJ
Years at Lincoln: 9
Favorite Educator: Former LMS art teacher, Kate Pomatti. She was my lead teacher as I earned and cleared my art credential. She always modeled thoughtfulness and patience, and gave me the kindest pep talks when I needed them
Fun Fact: Ms. Moazzez, my mom, and I had afternoon tea at the Athenaeum Hotel in London in 2019.

Sony Pictures Studios
Field trip!
We are thrilled to celebrate the unforgettable experience our STV students had this week at the Sony Pictures Studios!
Their trip was not only educational but also inspiring, offering them a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of film and television production. We're proud of their curiosity, enthusiasm, and engagement during this enriching opportunity.
A big thank you to Mrs. Chang and chaperones who made this trip possible. Your commitment to providing exceptional learning experiences for our students is truly commendable.
Let's continue to support and encourage our students as they explore their passions and interests beyond the classroom.
Pom and Cheer Tryouts!
For 8th grade students and future Vikings!
I have a very short update about Santa Monica High School sports time lines for upcoming tryouts for the 2024-25 school year.
The first group that will be holding tryouts is the PEP SQUAD including the Cheer team and the Pom Dance team
They will host tryouts during the month of MARCH. Please see the attached flyers to send out to any student interested in learning more.
Informational Zoom meetings will be held for both programs for parents and students prior to the tryout dates.
If you could share these two flyers in your weekly google classroom notes to families that would be greatly appreciated.
The remaining 26 sports that compete in CIF will be hosting tryouts for the 2024-25 school year during the week of June 12- 15th Details are still in movement due to the exact date of the south gym demolition which will cause all sorts of facility challenges starting in June. As soon as we have a list of dates and times for each sport tryout this group will be notified with the one page flyer that will indicate all the details.
Breakfast Club!
