Happy Labor Day!!!

Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone had the opportunity to spend an extra day relaxing with family and friends. According to Wikipedia, Labor Day in the United States is a public holiday to honor the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country. This definition really made me think about the teaching profession and the amazing contributions we make on a daily basis. I cannot think of another profession that encompasses the bold words above more than that of an educator. I am very proud and very honored to work along side such an extraordinary group of individuals.

I am very excited about the upcoming week and our continued effort at defining our student culture. It is funny when I tell people how we are defining our student culture, or I show them a video of our hallways; they all say the same long will you all keep that up? Defining our student culture is hard work, but it is very rewarding work.

There are a lot of people who doubt our ability to keep up this hard work. My response to the nay-sayers, however, is always the same...."that this is our new culture and that we have seen our efforts pay off. The work is hard, but we will always continue to define and refine our culture". I look forward to our continued work at defining our culture.

I hope everyone has a great week and I look forward to working with you all to silence our doubters.
