What's happening in the Marquette Library this month?
Native American Studies for Kdgtn, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grade
Students will research Native American tribes, dwellings, foods, and chiefs in the library using books and digital resources. Mrs. Murray will read her favorite Navajo story Baby Rattlesnake by Te Ata. This story comes alive with her adorable rattlesnake puppet made from recycled neckties.
Digging Deep for Information on Bones
Students in 4th and 5th Grades will use Caldecott Honor Steve Jenkins' book Bones to research bones of the human body as compared to the bones of animals. This book with three oversized foldouts is a starting point for digital research students will do using the iPads.
Author Mary Coleman-Woolslayer Returns to Marquette
Famous children's author Mary Coleman-Woolslayer will return to Marquette to read her new book Nap Fairies to the Readers are Leaders Book Club on Dec. 3rd at 12:00-1:00pm in the Library Media Center. After she reads aloud there will be a 45 minute Writing Workshop to inform students of how she wrote the book.
