Aiming to Keep You Informed
March 20, 2020
From the Office
Bloomingdale School District 13 schools are currently closed due to the pandemic threat for students and staff. Until further notice, the return date for students is Monday, April 6. Please continue to check the District website for the most up-to-date information.
We miss seeing all of you!
We know that this is a very stressful time for our students, parents, staff, and the community. We hope that everyone is staying safe & healthy and looking out for their friends & neighbors. In an effort to stay connected and support our students academically during the school closure, our staff has put together an At Home Learning plan that will be shared with parents & students very soon. Some introductory information regarding the At Home Learning plan is listed below. Please also take a look at the links provided below by our Nurse that may help students. We encourage all of our students and their families to follow the guidelines posted by the CDC regarding social distancing, hand washing, and other safety precautions. We are a strong community and a strong nation. When we work together we can accomplish anything! We look forward to seeing all of you very soon!
At Home Learning plan for students
On Monday, March 23rd, Dr. Bartelt will share the At Home Learning plan with parents and students. Beginning Tuesday, March 24th, teachers will communicate additional details of the new At Home Learning plan with their students. The At Home Learning plan will consist of daily communication from teachers, 20-30 minutes of learning per content area posted to each teachers' Google classroom page for a maximum of 2 1/2 hours per day combined, and additional options for students who wish to go beyond the recommended 2 1/2 hours per day of learning. At this time, no grades will be provided for the work students complete.
While completion of student work is optional, we strongly encourage your child's participation as a way of staying connected to their teachers and classmates! Our teachers and staff are working hard to provide engaging academic learning for our students. Please encourage your child to log in daily to the Google Classroom page for each of their teachers and to communicate with their teachers if they have questions related to any of the content. This At Home Learning plan is new for all of us. We appreciate your patience and understanding as the new procedures begin. Thank you!
