February 2014
News and Views from Your Library
First, a shameless plug for the program we are sponsoring tonight (Thursday evening)! The library, in cooperation with the Honors Program and the Music Department, is sponsoring a program which will explore the popular music of Lincoln's time.

Collections
We all collect things - everything from baseball cards to butterfies. The library collects books, journals, and media for a specific audience - the WVWC Community. We also collect access to things on your behalf. Let us know what you like, and what you would like to see added, by filling out this form.
Please note that our collection does not include copies of all textbooks. This is partly because it would violate the spirit of Fair Use in the area of Copyright Law, but also because it would be very difficult and expensive to keep up with the many changes.

Place
In Medieval times, the Town Square was where people came to get information, discuss it, and perhaps buy a pig. Today, your library does much the same. No pigs, though. We prefer coffee and pastries. The ideas are free for the taking and sharing.
The library building is not the only place where this is possible. Online access to electronic materials is available 24/7/365. You can even contact us there by way of chat, text, email, Facebook or Twitter!

Services
Did you know that:
- You can request items for us to purchase?
- If we don't have it, and it is something that doesn't fit our collection (or our budget), we can get it for you from Interlibrary Loan?
- You can place items on reserve for your classes?
- Librarians are available to meet with you and with your classes to share information about the resources that are available in that area. We often hear that faculty just don't have time to keep up - and we certainly can understand that!
- Drop-in workshops are available. If you offer your students extra credit for attending one, we will gladly be sure to let you know that they were here. And, we take requests for workshop topics.
