Persephone and Demeter

Plot Summary
Persephone, Demeter's daughter was out in the meadow picking flowers when Hades, god of the underworld swept her away. Hades has always been in love with Persephone and wanted her to become his wife. Hades forced her to be his queen and wouldn't let her go, even when Persephone begged and begged to go home to her mother. Up on the surface of earth Demeter grieved losing her daughter and everything began to wilt, die. Demeter persuades Zeus to command Hades to let Persephone go back to her mother. While leaving Persephone accidentally eat a couple of seeds of a pomegranate of the underworld. According to law of the underworld Persephone must now return to underworld and live there. Demeter pleads with Zeus and Zeus declares Persephone must only go to the underworld one month for every pomegranate seed she ate. Every time Persephone goes to the underworld Demeter becomes sad and the world turns, frozen gray winter, and when Persephone comes back it turns to spring.
