AP Psychology AB and Psychology A - November 11, 2014
Greetings Parents and Students,
Please read this bi-weekly newsletter for important information regarding your AP Psychology AB or Psychology A course. Additionally, please review the course specific information regarding the end of semester and your GaVS psychology course.
Grades are Updated!
Please note that grades have been updated as of this weekend. All work that was due by Friday's benchmark has been graded and zeros have been entered for work that has not been submitted. If your grade is below passing you will be receiving a phone call shortly. Please check your grades to ensure you are not missing assignments. Any work that is turned in late will be graded within 72 hours of submission. For the most up to date grade information please check your grade book or parent account.
GaVS Late Work Policy
If an assignment was due and you have not turned it in, please refer to the GaVS Late Work Policy below. You still have a chance to submit the assignment for a late grade.
1 day -10%
2 days -20%
3 days -30%
4 days -40%
5 days -50%
Assignments submitted after 5 days past the due date will not be graded.
*Please note - The correct assignment with working links must be submitted to the appropriate drop box by the benchmark due date to avoid late penalties.
Final Exams are just around the corner!
Your GaVS final exam will open on December 3, 2014 at 12:00 a.m. and close promptly at 11:59 p.m. on December 4, 2014. You must take your final exam within this time frame and in ONE sitting.
- Once the exam opens it must be completed in the time allotted for your course. *Check your specific course for details.
- There are NO extensions. There are NO exemptions.
- Be sure that you complete your exams using a trusty computer with a trusty connection – NO EXCUSES!!! Final exams will not be reset.
- You need to make sure you have the latest Java version and latest browser version, preferably Chrome or Firefox.
- Prepare now so you do not run into issues.

End of Semester and Exam Information for Psychology A Students:
How Should I Study for my Final Exam? (Psychology A Students)
The final exam will be the same format as your unit exams only longer. Read below for tips on studying for the final. Be sure to contact me with any questions.
- Review missed items from your unit exams. (See graphic below if you don't know how to do this.)
- Complete test remediation on any exam you did not score a 100 on. This will help you study and boost your test grades! (Be sure to follow test remediation guidelines to earn credit)
- Take the practice exams at the end of each module.
- Check out the newly posted review items on the class bulletin board. There is a list of terms you should know as well as two interactive sites for practice.

How Should I Study for My Final Exam? (AP Psychology AB Students)
Your final exam is the same format as your unit m/c exams. There is no FRQ on your AP Psychology AB final.
- Shmoop, Shmoop, Shmoop!!! If you have not already enrolled in Shmoop, now is the time to do so (see graphic below if you don't know how). You can take a diagnostic test in Shmoop to see where you really need to focus in your studies. Again, this is also a great tool to review for the AP exam in May.
- Review all missed items from your unit m/c exams and FRQs. (See image below if you don't know how to do this.)
- Check out the Review Padlet posted on the class bulletin board. There are many great study resources to choose from.
- Check out the videos in the LINKS section of your course.
- There are also three full length practice exams in the Quizzes section of your course you can take in preparation.
