Bath Public School 2021
Update
Dear Families,
We are so excited to see everyone back at school to in person learning! Since our return in the last week of January our classrooms have been filled with smiles and laughter! We have had wonderful weather to get outside for DPA each day and play in the snow. As we continue to focus on getting outside, please make sure you send your child to school dressed appropriately and send extra masks to replace those that are wet.
We had our first inclement weather day when all buses were cancelled. Families of bus students should ensure they are signed up to receive direct notifications, either by email, or Tri-Board’s app. Delays and cancellations are also posted to Tri-Board’s Twitter account. Please have a back-up plan if your child's bus is cancelled! If you choose to drop your child off at school, please remember that our school yard supervision begins at 8:55 and students should access the front walkway into the school yard. A reminder that when a bus run is cancelled in the morning, it will not run at the end of the day. Also, please remember to report your child's absence using Safe Arrival as it is not implied that your child will not be attending school on a bus cancellation day.

In February, we look forward to celebrating and sharing messages of friendship and kindness. In order to maintain an abundance of caution for safety and hygiene we ask that parents refrain from sending Valentine's Day cards or treats from home. Educators have planned some special activities for students in lieu of exchanging cards from home, and will keep families informed.
Each and every day we are thankful for the community we live in. Our next School Advisory Council (SAC) virtual MS TEAMS meeting will take place on Monday February 8th @6:30. Contact the main office by 3:00 on Monday Feb 8th for the link to the meeting. Please continue to take care of yourself, take care of each other and take care of this community. #Bettertogether

School Year Calendar Survey 2021/2022
Each year, the Limestone District School Board seeks input and feedback for the next year’s school-year calendar. The Ministry of Education provides school boards with a template which sometimes needs to be amended depending on the calendar year.
This survey is seeking your feedback which will be shared with the LDSB School-Year Calendar Committee, which is made up of various employee groups, parent representatives, students and community members, who then make recommendations to the Board.
The Ministry of Education template indicates the school year must fall between September 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022. The Limestone School-Year Calendar is created in partnership with the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic and Hastings & Prince Edward district school boards. All three Boards must agree on the calendar presented to the Ministry of Education for final approval due to shared busing considerations.
Limestone, ALCDSB and HPEDSB have proposed a school-year calendar with 194 days, with each semester containing 97 days. There are three potential options being presented: one has students beginning the school prior to Labour Day but finishing earlier in June, while the other two options have students beginning classes after Labour Day, but provide options for staff to begin prior to Labour Day to ensure that the calendar has 194 school days.
The survey will remain open until February 12, 2021.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. Your feedback is important.

KFL&A Public Health Immunization Announcement
KFL&A Public Health will be postponing the enforcement of the Immunization of School Pupils Act for this school year and will not implement suspension actions this spring. Nevertheless, we ask that parents report any required vaccine(s) that a student has already received by the proposed deadline of February 18th, 2021.
Students missing vaccines, can see their regular health care provider as soon as possible and then update their record with KFL&A Public Health.
Students without a health card or doctor can book an appointment to receive free vaccines at KFL&A Public Health clinics. Go to //kflaph.ca/Appointments to book an appointment.
We recognize this may be a stressful time however we encourage families to provide the requested information due to the heightened importance of protecting against vaccine preventable disease outbreaks in our school communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
