ADMINISTRATION UPDATE
Dear CCS Families,
As we send this update of our week, it is challenging not to look back on past years at the events we would have been celebrating- a Staff luncheon for Teacher Appreciation Week, the planting of a tree for Arbor Day and the start of our Spring music concerts. It is the memories and traditions that we have collectively experienced that propels us into this time where we need to be creative, innovative and still connected. At the center of these events are the students of CCS and the teachers who support their academic, social and emotional growth.
During this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week we all have found a deeper appreciation for our teachers’ relationships with students, their drive to be creative in meeting the vast needs of students and families and their perseverance to learn, innovate and expand on their professional tools to engage all of their students. We appreciate the expressions of appreciation that have been sent to our teachers and staff. Please enjoy this Teacher Appreciation video inspired by the CCS PTO and created by Allan Miller - https://youtu.be/hbTFNGxcB1E
Today, the Governor and Agency of Education gave guidance for end-of-year events. We must think creatively about how to “host” important traditions like our awards ceremony, carnation ceremony and our 8th grade graduation in a virtual setting. With the support of families and the voice of the students, we will create an experience honoring the dedication and inspiring qualities of our 8th graders. For now, please hold the date of June 11th for a virtual graduation. Please look for a more-detailed communication next week about how you can support this and many ongoing experiences for our students.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend with a special wish for all of the CCS mothers to enjoy your special day! Happy Mothers’ Day!
Kind regards,
Stephanie, Jen and Cassandra

CCS BEHAVIOR SYSTEMS SUPPORT DURING REMOTE LEARNING
Tim Holcomb and Mike DiNicola, CCS Behavior Systems Coordinator and Planning Room Facilitator, will offer office hours beginning next week on Mondays from 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm and on Thursdays from 2:30 pm - 3:00pm. The focus of this will be to provide families with support as they navigate remote learning and build positive expectations at home. Mike and Tim can collaborate with parents regarding common school language, reinforcement plans, and learning structures. Mike and Tim understand that each family's situation is different, and will be available to consult with parents as needed.

TECHNOLOGY HICCUPS
We thank you for navigating the many technology adventures of remote learning with us. We will always be proactive in problem-solving when we are able to do so! Yesterday, there was a huge outage for Comcast services - unavoidable, but we are sorry for any trouble it caused.
LOST AND FOUND
Our tables are still overflowing. We will have everything out and available to look through at our next Material Pick-up. (No date has been set at this time). We will do our best to get things matched up to their owners. (After we figure out this remote learning, we’ll have some ideas about how to make black Bogs identifiable to kids!!)
ADDITIONAL RESOURCES FOR FAMILIES
